Annual raise time: "Your performance was great, but we gave you a low review because if we rated you appropriately we'd have to give you a raise, and investors want us to cut costs."

Quite the opposite, or so the Germans would have us believe:

I die with a happy heart, aware of the immeasurable deeds and achievements of our soldiers at the front, our women at home, the achievements of our farmers and workers and the work, unique in history, of our youth who bear my name.

And you'll never guess who he blamed for starting the war.

You know, the guy who's been having that same angry conversation about the same fucking thing he's been obsessed with for the last 5 years and demands that you take his view while going on long monologues and then immediately interrupting anyone who tries to get a word in edgewise? And then goes into a weeks-long suicidal despair if you try to leave the conversation? Any way to deal with that?

"Remember when I promised I'd fix your computer?"
"That's right! You did!"
"I lied."

The problem is in parks everyone is too spread out to talk to strangers. There needs to be a park with a bar to bring everyone together.

If you have a retirement account, it's probably in some sort of stocks. Be aware of what those are. Consider including some non-American index funds that are not particularly tech heavy. S&P index funds are significantly exposed to AI-related tech companies, and their usual safety is currently questionable.

I give through my employer which matches donations. You should look into whether that's available since it'll double the amount.

Decentralized truth is essential to human freedom. It's not enough to just run wikipedia as a bare bones site, they need to be able to adapt to the times and maybe even fund new projects with the same goals. For people who actually care about the future, it's hard to think of a better use of the money.

FLAKENSTEINS

I'm still guessing.

Brokerage login now requiring I answer these questions. Not a single one of these has a single answer I'd actually remember. They all have problems regarding what would actually count or multiple possible answers to choose from, or these are not things people would remember or they just don't apply to most people.

I ate some fermented bean curd that I saw at the korean market yesterday, and the flavor was let's just say quite strong and horrible. Having never had fermented bean curd before I just assumed this is how it was supposed to taste, and it was just one of those things asians eat that tastes terribly at first but they've somehow developed a taste for it. I did wonder why they bothered to make it "spicy" when the taste was so strong that spiciness was totally superfluous. So I forced down the one piece I ate and threw out the rest.

Later that night, I the sort of stomach experience that I'm sure many of you are familiar with. I'll spare the details, other than to say it involved waking up and wondering if I would pass out before reaching the bathroom, and a puddle of cold sweat on the bathroom floor.

So now I'm wondering if it was that the fermented bean curd was way too fermented, or if there's something else in my fridge I should be throwing out?
