Hey all, until now I'm being super reluctant about using any AI tool. On top of all the privacy issues it obviously comes with it (I can't believe there are people talking to ChatGpt and literally teaching them how to impersonated!), I have a feeling that it only does jobs that you are capable of doing with other tools, but since it looks like a person and not a computer, people start to fantasize that it will do everything they don't know or don't want to do it and become numb and stupid. But, maybe there are some uses for it and at my office we will soon have access to Claude, so I want to explore it and check for myself. My question is what precautions should I take and what limits should I put on my usage? I thought about creating a new email account just for signing up, but obviously that's nothing nowadays.

If a house gets burned by a 12 yo with a magnifying glass maybe it deserved

Once I saw a video about Mario Kart speedrunning history and there was a record on Rainbow Road that lasted for years. Than someone broke it but just told the community without showing how it was done. In a couple of days someone else figured it out and did it too. Sometimes we just need to know it is possible

That's just another comment

Maybe... she kind of knew (even subconsciously) all the time, but found a way to reassure how much you two liked each other. Can't blame her, it worked and made good for both

Not answering directly the post, but something in line with it: I believe not all (maybe most of) knowledge is scientific, but that doesn't invalidate it. A lot of things can't be studied by the scientific method, but people intuitively understood and learned about it along the centuries.

This should be common sense, but society has gone crazy about considering only science as knowledge and now ignores valuable learnings that sometimes are more right then science itself.

This should not be confused with negating science (like global warming deniers): when you can study something by the scientific method normally you will get deeper and with less mistakes with it. But when you don't, you can still have knowledge by other methods

Maybe the win percentage of lucky and unlucky people are the same, but lucky people win when it matters most, while unlucky people when there is nothing important at stake

My father had another son with his 2nd wife when he was 58. At first I thought he was too old and it would be a burden for him and for the kid, but finally it works fine for everyone. He kind of seems younger now and my brother (now 11 years old) deals fine with having an older dad.

Portuguese is very similar to Spanish, but differ on those kind of things. We say "a biblioteca é ali" (though "a biblioteca está ali" is also used).

We also don't use "me fez feliz" (it made me happy) as much as they say "me puso feliz", normally you say "fiquei feliz" (i became happy)

You are grammatically right. But in practice the fact that am has also the meaning of equating the subject to the object puts the idea in people's head (at some degree, unconsciously, at least) that they equate to what they feel.

As a Brazilian, that makes me so sad. We used to have a type that could fit European and American plugs, but they just changed it. Never gonna let it go hahaha
