I don't think foreign cells survive in your body. Even if they were injected, I'd expect them to die, because they are not going to get integrated in your body.

I doubt I will ever be able to train my brain to stop this. Also it's just doing it's job to protect me. Hard to blame it for taking this a little too far...

So instead I just try and balance it out by asking myself: What is the best thing that might happen? What's the most likely thing to happen? Which in most cases is simply nothing of note. The important thing is not to keep thinking only about the worst outcomes.

That's a cool game!

Nor sure if this technically qualifies as positive affirmation, but what helps me is saying:

All you need to do is be (yourself)

"Yourself" is optional. Sometimes I use a variation:

Just be (yourself) The best thing you can do is be (yourself)

Reminds me that there is only one me and it's my job to fill that role. Nobody else can do that as well as me :)

No, it's one of those "don't believe the targeted harassment campaign" arguments

I just said it looks like it's from this artist, alright?

It wasn't Google, it was this one: https://www.labnol.org/reverse

I didn't find the direct image, but it did link more to the artist

Some really weird choices here for sure. But it seems to be made by Auckland artist Toby Morris: https://www.lambiek.net/artists/m/morris_toby.htm

This is the answer, I think. However, as far as I understand it, we can get outsized reactions that are not evolutionary sensible. This oversensitivity can be just a random trait that might not be helpful at all in the current environment (or any other previous environment). It can also just be a psychology response to a traumatic event for example. Humans are quite complex.

Looks like a creature straight out of The Dark Crystal

There really needs to be a proper federated alternative to imdb and co

Hey, I recently started playing Brütal Legend for the first time, having a lot of fun. However, I'm having a little trouble with the base combat.

I'm currently in a quest where I'm supposed to ambush some enemies with a bunch of headbangers, razor girls and a thunder hog(?). I've tried it a few times, but I keep failing and I'm not sure how to best approach the combat. I can do the face melt solo or fight with my axe or guitar. I can double team with one of the characters who is with me to deal even more damage, I can start a moshpit or send the headbangers to a specific target. I've tried different approaches, but my units keep dying.

I find it hard to judge what's working better and what isn't. Doesn't help that I find it hard to distinguish between friend and foe and keep a good overview of the battlefield itself.

Any tips on how to best the combat?

I recently started rewatching Serial Experiments: Lain and realized that it's the perfect watch for a hot summer night: It's chill, eerie and matches the summer night vibe perfectly.

What's your favorite anime for hot summer nights and why?
