An LW admin has confirmed that grow topics including photos and discussion are allowed so long as they can reasonably construed as educational. So don't encourage people to grow and don't get too specific when discussing your methods (sourcing, trading, sales). However, I expect hunting and identifying to fall under educational content.

Our community rules are:

Follow the Lemmy World Terms of Service.
Be helpful.
No trading of anything here.
Do not post about vendors.
No Irrelevant Content.
No grow guides and don't encourage others to grow.

I was specifically told by LW admins that we should model our rules after /c/trees and that the applicable jurisdiction is the Netherlands. So if anyone can cite some sources on what the actual laws are there, it will help me be as lenient as possible when enforcing rules here.

[UPDATE 11/16/2023]: LW admin AvaddonFC has confirmed that photos of your grows are allowed.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to make sure we are all up to speed on this community's rules. /c/Shrooms was reopened on the condition that we enforce LW's TOS. Feel free to post your questions here or shoot me a PM.

Our community rules as they currently stand:

6. No instructions on how to grow or where to source materials.

And? Did I say that wasn't happening? Believe it or not, refusing to engage in diplomacy doesn't make the problem go away. And they say centrists bury their heads in the sand.

Will it make a return once we gain the ability to block individual instances? I'm not fan of communism and I'm personally stoked to not have lemmygrad in my feed. And I think you made the right choice given the current state of Lemmy but I do think that a "free speech" forum requires that we don't silence hate speech en masse. I'm sure can agree to at least part of that statement. I just like to make the decision of what I wanted filtered out.

I should probably add that I'm not advocating for any illegal content. That has no place here.
