DJ coming up at Bar 355 in lovely-ish Downtown Oakland, California. Apologies if this is considered an "ad," though to be specific, no purchase is necessary and there ain't a cover.

Just wait til you discover Moorcock.

There was an old guy with the first name "Adolf" at my parents' church when I was a kid in the 1970s.

Diamond Dogs, Turquoise Days by Alastair Reynolds. Seems a witty, post-everything far-future space opera with visually-distinct alienoid characters, through there’s still plenty of page space left for it to tank. We’ll see.

The Oakland quartet Replica Watch at Spats in Berkeley, CA not too long ago. People were in attendance and observing, as is evidenced by the photo. They have a tape:

Doing my small part of a) stave off boredom, b) contribute in some small portion to this here community, and c) hype what is currently my favorite local (Oakland, California) band:

https://foglamp.bandcamp.com/album/still-entangled

Fog Lamp are loose-limbed synth/garage with an ironic observational spin to the lyrics. Heavy musically but very informal and at-ease in a live setting. Each time I've seen 'em they managed to overdrive the fog machine (possibly intentional, based on the band name).

Anyway, carry on.
