This bullshit again, the “barriers” were folding markers and parking space bumpers. Local riders mostly disliked them since the bumpers wouldn’t stop any cars anyways and just create less control for everyone involved. If the dumbass city council did it right there wouldn’t have been an issue but they half assed it and got hate from both sides. Good riddance.

The problem is the US wouldn’t get rid of them, they’d just do what they always do and prop up one as the defacto monopoly and use it to control the region. Drugs are to valuable to the justice system to let go.
When I think of US history, unity and stability are probably the last adjectives I’d use. I don’t see this period as notably worse than any other transitional period. Alternatively I’d put it like this; Violence is the only true power in America and as along as the government has a monopoly on it the country will be forced into submission no matter the ruling party.

Ok that context helps a lot. It’s not uncommon for young women to use phrases like that playfully. Unless it’s clearly meant to be an insult you can assume they are just trying to be emphatic in their disbelief. It’s not particularly recent, the playful use of those phrases at least goes back to the 90’s in America, I can’t say elsewhere.
Considering how vile most internet discourse is it doesn’t really register to me at this point, but I’m probably desensitized. Also to be clear on your last point, shut up is also a rude phrase in english. Adding “the fuck” is only an emphasis.
Nah I know plenty of riders in the area that dislike them because they’d rather ride in the street than have a dumbass driver lose even more control getting popped into the air when they hit the little shitty barriers and crush them. Some of the as lanes in the county are alright but these are bad for everyone involved.
