I'm not so sure with TutaMail, ProtonMail, or other privacy or non-American are privacy invasive. The trade off from what I understanding is that get you less free space.

Haha, as long as you simply run arch-install as your first command, you will be fine.

Linux Mint is still easier by default. But any user willing to even try installing Linux, especially Arch, likely has the time and intelligence to do some extra configurations after using arch-install.

oh, I remember mine being by default. Thanks for sharing though.

The amount of compliments I get for deleting Facebook. It's like everyone applauds me.

For email, I had to go with a free provider because I don't want to be in a situation where I don't want to pay for a domain, and then lose my email in the process.

Go for Linux Mint. Keep it simple starting out.

I've deleted my Facebook account. I was making it seem a lot worse than it was. It's more peaceful having it gone.

I don't like Epic either, but it's free

Use Molly as your Signal client instead. It solves this.

I'm not sure what to downvotes mean. Is it because of the instant checkout links? They don't want Epic Games posting? They don't like the games?

[–] dudesss@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I did not even notice they have a new version to be released.

Was some manual copy and paste work. Will be easier once Lemmy integrates copying and pasting HTML as shown -- so I can copy the whole https://reddit.com/r/freegamefindings posts and comments easier.

Homemade French Fries (m.youtube.com)
submitted 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) by dudesss@lemmy.ca to c/veganrecipes@sh.itjust.works

This is my favourite video on how to made homemade French fries. The trick is to

  1. cut them

  2. place them in cold water for 30 minutes

  3. drain them and pat them dry with a cloth

  4. Bake them at 475F for 30 minutes

  5. Mix them in a bowl with salt, pepper, and oil

Extra tip: Making homemade ketchup may be a cheaper and healthier option than store bought.

As well, if you're too lazy for fries but want potatoes. If they're small enough, don't even bother cutting them:

  1. Wash them

  2. Throw them in a pot of boiiing water for a few minutes until they are soft when you can easily punture them with a fork.

  3. Then drain them and add whatever garnish, oil, you want.

If the water is cold, you could give the water to your garden outside.

I'm a DevOps programmer, and would like to get into the security part of it. Do you guys know any tools I should have know in DevSecOps? I'm a huge fan of FOSS if that helps.

Besides there being little to no laptop chargers being made in Canada, are there any recommended distributors selling them?
