I completely agree. Specifically, in this case, it's because of anticompetitive intellectual property laws, which is what capitalism is ultimately about: creating artificial monopolies because you're too much of a god damn pussy to actually deliver anything good.

Technology could be so awesome, and this is what they do.

I love technology. This is complete policy failure. Big Tech must be annihilated.

To claim that Jesus was either capitalist or anticapitalist is anachronistic to the point of absurdity.

Capitalism isn't just "free markets", it's a set of institutions and norms that really only make sense in a modern setting, with centralised states, and very specific forms of absolute property rights and contractual obligations.

Jesus, however, claimed rich people could not enter heaven. Rich people can exist outside capitalism.

Jolla has a Linux OS that supports Android apps. Works for Swedish banking apps, at least.

Exactly. It's not the smart part of a device that is the problem. That's an extreme overreaction.

The problem with most smart devices today is that they are proprietary, non-fully libre and open source, for-profit, cloud-connected, corporate committee designed spyware, adware, and bloatware.

Devices that are fully FLOSS (firmware, hardware, software) and based on open and free standards and protocols are awesome, but they get easily forgotten.

The Internet and your technology can be so much better. Demand it.

You're like my grandma but instead of wrapping paper, you're hoarding anxiety.

Completely agreed. Nowadays we even have WASM that can run more advanced things, and may even give webapps sandboxed capabilities, and can be run natively on any device with a WASM runtime.

No, but great idea gatekeeping collective action. We surely need less of it.

Every revolution famously begins with everyone giving up completely.

Same here.

But I always get told that people need the threat of starvation and homelessness to do anything at all.
