What the hell are you guys talking about?

The half-pinned crossover slip method is clearly the simplest.

I always see premium nowadays as “not the absolute bottom of the barrel”

  • Premium hotel room: not the cupboard in the basement with a single mattress and a broken TV but the next one up. No view or anything though unless you upgrade to a deluxe or higher

  • Premium economy seat on a flight: basically cattle class but with one inch extra leg room and fake leather seat cushions. Still can’t lie down or access better loos like in business or first class

  • Premium spirits: supermarket own-brand spirits but in a glass bottle rather than the super cheap shit they sell in plastic bottles

Etc…

Yeah we’re all planning to fall asleep on the couch watching Netflix. Just like they did in the before times when they still sold this stuff in stores!

The states you mentioned all have nukes

For me it’s more about keeping multiple systems in sync and working as intended. E.g. I have my laptop, a home server with couple different distros and a few cloud VMs. Whenever I change a keybind in neovim or tmux or whatever, I just save the changes in a slightly different way and now every machine has those changes so I don’t need to update each machine manually.

What other unrelated topics do you wish to discuss?

Whataboutism masterclass right here

The best way I can explain it is it’s like when kids will say:

“You’re stupid!”

“Nuh-uh!”

“Yuh-uh!”

Jo is like “yuh-uh” but not as silly sounding because it’s used all the time in normal conversation. I think doing it on the inhale is just a way of making it sound less aggressive/argumentative but I’m not really sure.

Fair enough! Def worth a watch

There’s also RapidRAW, a much newer FOSS project with a much more focussed goal of actually being a simple lightweight Lightroom replacement. There are a lot of basic features still missing but it’s worth following.

Not sure about amazon but if you search for deezloader/deemix you’ll find ways to self-host services that download flacs from deezer. Also, there are services on most chat apps that will do it for you too if you search for the same terms.

Jesse adding “removed” to that sentence in that scene is an example of the Mandela effect. Lots of people remember it that way, but he actually says “Yeah science! Yeah Mr. White!”

I've been having trouble since rarbg shut down and have been having to manually check downloaded files because so many of them are poor quality, not even playable or completely different movies/shows. YTS has been decent for movies but over the last 48 hours it's been failing (maybe because of the cloudflare issue but who knows)

  • I know the easiest solution would be to cough up the money for a usenet sub but I don't want to unless absolutely necessary.
  • I'm not on any private trackers.

So what public torrent indexers do you use and what order do you have them in?

I just stumbled across this and it seems interesting. Sort of like Brave browser's model but for search. I'll just post the marketing blurb I found here instead of rehashing what they wrote much more eloquently than I could:

Presearch Engine

The Presearch Engine harnesses the power of a number of the world’s top search engines and other data sources to provide users with a compelling search experience that offers great results, protects user privacy, provides more choice and control, while also being censorship-resistant.

PRE Tokens

Rewards in the form of PRE tokens, the Presearch cryptocurrency are provided to searchers to incentivize them to switch to the Presearch Engine from Google and other search engines.

Presearch Nodes

Presearch nodes can be installed on any computer or server that supports Docker, and provide the computing resources to power the Presearch Engine. Those running nodes are also rewarded with PRE tokens.

Presearch Keyword Staking

The Presearch Keyword staking platform enables advertisers to bid on keywords using PRE tokens to have their ads displayed. Whoever stakes or commits the most tokens to a keyword has their ad displayed.

Presearch Marketplace

The Presearch Marketplace enables keyword stakers and node stakers, as well as project supporters to purchase PRE tokens directly from the project with Bitcoin, Ethereum or USD.

Ethereum Blockchain

The Ethereum blockchain enables PRE token holders to easily transfer, sell, buy and store their PRE tokens, as well as view all transactions on the network in an open, transparent manner.

They also have a referrals system whereby if you join using a referral, both parties get a bonus number of tokens. I'm not bothered either way and my intention isn't to spam this for profit so I didn't include the referral in the main post link. I'm mainly interested in your thoughts on this tech.

However, in case anybody would like the initial bonus, here's a referral link:
