I only say data the way it's said in Star Trek. Same for database.

I agree, and I wish he had done things differently.

Like I said earlier, he's responsible for the safety of the fans at their shows who were suddenly at risk of harm from crazy MAGAs after Kyle endorsed killing Trump on stage. We can't just assume he was only thinking about his movie money. Maybe he was maybe he wasn't, maybe made the wrong call, doesn't make him a monster.

Jack is and will remain to be one of my idols. Like I said, his music and comedy meant a lot to me and others in my generation, and helped make us the people we are today. He was a voice of joy and rebellion, not some nazi. I know he is a person with a good heart.

I'd have to see something pretty damning to change that. A lot more than making uncool movies these days, or failing some purity test on his political opinions. I haven't seen whatever supposed zionist stuff he has expressed, but if it boils down to him saying he supports Israel, i would take that to mean he's just saying what he thinks he should and doesn't have an understanding of the reality of the Palestinian genocide, like most people in America.

If you want your idols to be perfect, then don't have any, because all people are flawed.

Jack Black earned enough respect from me for Tenacious D and everything else he has done, to withstand doing some family movies. If he wasn't as big influence on your life I can understand not seeing it that way though.

Sauron wasn't "back" yet when Bilbo had the ring

Why use this over Lemmy?

Notoriously, Cybertrucks are not designed with traditional crumple zones.

Are you saying he was a piece of shit purely because he collected memorabilia, or were there other reasons? I know of no reason to say he was a bad human being.

Aren't all androids Linux?

Well, Joe Rogan

Hi,

I don't post this to be malicious or rude, but simply out of concern.

I believe this bot is killing community growth on Lemmy. I keep coming across would-be-interesting communities only to find a wall of bot posts with zero comments, zero votes, zero engagement. And I walk away disappointed instead of getting into a new community. As, I'm sure, may other users are doing.

Sure, you say, "just block the bot" if I don't like it. But that doesn't stop this thing from stifling any real engagement and growth in communities. Surely if someone can "just...", you can "just" go back to reddit if you want to read reddit content that badly.

I admire the engineering you put into making this thing work. It's impressive, and honestly very cool. But I really think it's actively disengaging users, when Lemmy has enough of a hurdle to overcome in growing new communities.

Thats just my 2 cents. I'm not sure it will mean much, but I felt I had to share it. Again, no ill intent against what you've accomplished in creating this. Best wishes.
