I've done the second one and then realized after how stupid and hypocritical I am.

So now here I am calling myself out on the internet to strangers.

I think what I find most valuable with education is something that is an immersive collaborative experience. I suppose it's contingent on what you teach but I only put up power points until a week or two after the course so that people can come and experience education and learn together. From my pedagogy courses that I've had to take there's a lot of evidence of how information is better retained when in person.

My enjoyment of teaching comes from having an interactive relationship with my students. I mostly find students who take these huge courses where you get the PowerPoints to just kind of slide it into an AI chatbot and then never come to class.

I realize though that everyone is different and I am not in CS. I don't mean to create a blanket statement but if I had to take classes like that I would enjoy teaching and being a student much less.

I cannot for the life of me understand why they do that.

During covid when I was recording lectures I tried to make them fun and silly and it would take me like 3-4 hours to record and edit. The art is gone.

What's perchance

I want to be able to be a colonizing warlord who also lives with 20 cats, Is perpetually horny. and keeps lighting his house on fire.

Mine:

  1. Learn a second language and keep up with the language your parents speak. You will regret being a brat about not wanting to speak this language especially as your family members pass.
  2. The only opinions about you that really matter are from the people you respect and who respect you back
  3. Being a kind humble person, who leads their political convictions with curiosity and not self righteousness is important. As that one person said: "I am no hero and neither are you."
  4. Don't throw out your old media (mix cds, tapes, records, photos, zinee, etc) because you think they're embarrassing. They either will not be embarrassing later or they will become expensive and you can tell them for mad bucks.

I just started self hosting. I have been really enjoying it so far but I'm nervous that the excitement will wear off soon unless something stressful or even catastrophic happens. Any advice?

What was everyones favorite releases of 2025?

Is this the right place to ask for help? Or is there another place? Anyways, feel free to delete this post if i'm in the wrong spot.

I use Pop OS on an Asus. Something has happened where i either have a 10 min plus boot time, or it doesn't boot at all. I have reinstalled Pop OS twice (and used recovery mode) and even took it into a computer shop to see if there was something wrong with my hardware (there isn't). When I first do a new install it will restart fine, but then it'll be the next day when it will either take over 8 minutes to load, or it will be stuck on boot.

Right now it is stuck on boot. I can get into a live usb stick just fine. I have done systemanalyze blame, and it didn't give me any helpful information. I have the same issue even if I try to press space bar and boot into an old kernel.

I should note that my computer has encryption enabled.

Any help would be awesome.

All hail the other linux noobs out there!

Hey all I'm a little confused by something. I can't seem to quick search things in Dolphin, for instance if I try and look up a folder it says "no items matching the search" even though it will show up when looking for it on the command line and if I just manually search it myself. Does anyone know a fix for this?
