Ubuntu 8.10-12.04 Ubuntu MATE 14.04 Debian 8-13 with GNOME

I've played around on a lot of other distros, but Debian with Gnome (set up like Gnome 2) has been my home for a while.

I started with Ubuntu 8.10 on Gnome 2, and switched to Debian 8 after Snaps were introduced in Ubuntu 16.04.

I still use Gnome with a very Gnome 2-esque layout. AND default Adwaita. What can I say, it's digital home for me. Almost every app I use is Flatpak, so it's always fresh.

I had a Fairphone 4 with iodéOS before the microphone broke. And the microphone isn't repairable... 🙃

Now I'm on a Pixel 9a with GrapheneOS. Just set it up today but it's been pretty smooth thus far. I'm on Tello (T-Mobile network), and I was even able to get RCS connected within Google messages after following some advice I found.

I have the same Oceanus. It's one of my regulars!

I'm loving to see all these people jumping to Linux. I switched back in 2008 with Ubuntu 8.10. So much has changed since then.

I was arguing with my mom a few weeks ago because she was spouting racist anti-immigrant bullshit randomly, and I told her to stop watching Fox News.

She said, "I don't watch Fox News anymore. They're propaganda. I switched to NewsMax."

ಠ_ಠ

I honestly hope they destroy and bankrupt each other. We literally can't mention politics anymore or else it will turn into a shouting match, because she is so brainwashed and propaganda-addled and gets angry when I literally back myself up with evidence that I show her right then. We even had to come up with a safe word if we get close so we don't start yelling.

I remember when it rose from $6.25 to $7.25 when I was working at Kroger in high school. At the time it was a nice little bump, but the fact that it hasn't changed since is criminal.

I remember the video this is from. I think it's just a low wall that's open above that with a staircase on the other side.

My stereo can do Bluetooth for music. That's good enough for me. I hope my car lasts forever because I don't want anything like that in my car.

I don't know about automatic, but I also have music locally on my phone after moving away from streaming services.

I use fre:ac to convert from FLAC to MP3, and then just save it in a separate folder. Then when I'm done I move the folder to the phone and delete it from the computer so I just have FLAC on my computer.

Not automatic, but that's how I usually do it.

Thanks for reminding me of this. My COBRA coverage was asking $758 a month. I found a 0 deductible plan on healthcare.gov for $370. If I don't get a job by the end of this month, I'll sign up for that.
