Agreed. Wear my Pinetime everyday and was super excited to hear them announce this.

Funny how companies and applications default to features being auto implemented by default. Baked into the applications.
What happened to having the user select what they want rather then "a kill switch" for an application, whatever that means. Features shouldn't be on by default. I should be able to turn what I want on and off
Currently Freetube hasn't worked the last couple days. Wonder if this is why. Usually its fixed in a few days, so no worries
Software, OS support and hardware specs.
Overall it was a fun project which introduced me to the company Pine64, which also makes the Pinetime Watch which I wear every day for the last 3-4 years.
Phone just isn't there for daily usage. Horrible battery life, back then the OS worked but were wonky at best. Maybe things are better now but I wouldn't hold my breath
The pinephone has this, but unfortunately the phone itself is more of a tinker toy than a daily driver
The best setup in my eyes would be :
Dumb phone to take with you for calls / text messages and a non Sim card smartphone that would have apps on it but be hotspot over using the dumb phones data. Basically wifi only
That way if I were just doing errands on the weekend, just take the dumb phone. And then take the smartphone for onsite job trips and whatnot.
Smartphone would be degoogled. Remember, 2fa authentication doesn't need mobile data to work, its time based
Interesting timing to read this :
Earlier today, I left to do errands and pick up groceries and managed to forget my cellphone. First thing I thought I was "oh no, can't play my music" but then I just kinda drove and did my errands.
It was kinda nice not to have my cellphone during the car ride. Had a feeling of being "untethered".
Both are using Firefox base
I like to test browsers through www.browseraudit.com although im not sure how reliable the results are. I tend to stick with Browsers that score high 390's / 400.
In case you are wondering, Floorp scored a 400, while Zen scored a 397. Not bad at all
Weird that both taskbar icons for both browsers are the same? (Yellow circle with white "W" on it). Both were downloaded for linux, zipped.
Man, i really want to like Murena as I have been using e/os for about 3 years now. Even signed up and pay a yearly subsriction for their online ecosystem, albeit its more expensive, but i wanted to give my money to the underdog in this instance.
Going have to read more into this since last years failure doesnt help their image
Some people including me maybe dont want Linux to become popular.
Can we please have something in this world that isnt ruined by the general population? They already ruined the internet -
Have you tried Magic Earth Navigation. I tend to switch between Magic Earth and CoMaps but tend to use MAgic Earth more
