I managed to get one but I also checked resale sites in my area and was happily surprised to see that there's yet to be a single one up for resale by a scalper.

That being said, I did see someone trying to resale the OG Steam Controller for $250 which is hilarious considering all the other listings for it are between $30-100.

I generally agree but it really depends what work the vehicle is used for. In my line of work, regulations require us to have a fully separated cab from where the gear and load are kept so we're basically forced to use pickups.

That being said, only on-call team leads bring the trucks home and we're not allowed to use the trucks for personal use so they're basically only at our shop/base or at a worksite.

Sure but even in that context, where I live an Xbox controller costs between ~$80 to just over a hundred depending on the design. The Elite controller is ~$200 (or currently on sale for $150).

So with that context, the $150 price point of the Steam Controller is really not that high, especially when you consider the hall effect joysticks, trackpads, gyro, and Valve's really strong track record of supporting their hardware post-launch.

Note: all prices are in Canadian dollars

Strongly recommend "On Writing" if you're either curious about him specifically or interested in writing in general. I read it over a decade ago for the first time and I still regularly refer to it when talking to people about writing.

That's a bit disingenuous. I'm not absolving our agencies of the responsibility to work on increasing the safety of those held in detention but 17 deaths over 26 years is not equivalent to what's happening in the US where 23 people have died in ICE detention since October 2025 (source).

I saw that there's a community effort to save the entire archive and they were nearly done (or at least are on track to be done before the shutdown occurs). That being said, I haven't been following this super closely so I might be getting the details wrong.

Obviously a very different kind of game but the Factorio Space Age DLC more than doubled my play time in the game and imo is one of the best DLC value-wise that I've ever purchased.

Alternatively, one can argue that the 30% cut has allowed Valve to develop a product which is superior to the competition and that's why gamers often choose to buy their games there instead of other platforms. When Steam first became available, it was pretty terrible and there's plenty of historical articles that clearly highlight that fact. Now, over the years, Valve has reinvested a share of their profits to improve the platform to a point where it is arguably the best product on the market. The 30% fee isn't "anti competitive", if it were, there wouldn't be so many other options around. Punishing valve for having a superior product is just absurd.

Hard to see this as a relevant post when the article isn't accessible without being a subscriber and OP doesn't even contribute their perspective to start the conversation/discussion.

I mean sure but there's only an extra office in Ontario because the national capital is in Ontario. If Ottawa wasn't the capital, I bet there wouldn't be an office there.

The initial plan was for an open-world with progression tied to an actual in-game economy. Then they made most of the progression systems optional (a good thing), but now that's gone and there's no details on what the point of the open-world will be if there's no profession. We also have no real indication of whether or not this open world will even actually happen.

I'm pretty disappointed to hear that. IMO the career mode was the reason EVO seemed like an interesting title. Without it, I struggle to see why someone who prefers solo/offline play would buy it over the original AC.
