I suppose the point is that you should read the article before commenting on a discussion thread about the article. Misinformation is rampant and willful ignorance in propogating it is not very ethical.

Right, now do female employment rate. 57% in the US vs 13% in Iran. What good is having a higher education if you're then expected to sit at home while your husband remains the only breadwinner? This post is just cherry picked propaganda.

In another post it was helpfully pointed out that the professor in question also believes in the illuminati and other secret cabals controlling society. Take that as you will.

I thought it was quite clear. Verifying your age with an alcohol purchase receipt is a dumb idea for a large variety of reasons, including ease of acquiring one, ease of copying images, ease of printing one yourself and the cumulative ease of doing all this without an actual adult willingly involved in your scheme. It's is not nearly as fool proof as verifying government ID.

Of course, I'm against all invasive forms of age verification. Doesn't mean I'm going to advocate for a rally bad alternative either.
