I would think they'd want or even require a lot of customization for government work

Hmm, it would be interesting if all these governments switching to Linux would make their own distros.

Interesting, considering one of the ways to prevent Adobe from phoning home was to redirect their domains via hosts file. Perhaps that's where they got the idea, or one of the things they added, like hey were already looking at your hosts file to check for piracy, might as well add some entries for other reasons.

90% of what people do on computers can be done comfortably on 10 year old computers, performance wise. If a device hasn't fallen apart by now, you can assume that it's built to last, which isn't guaranteed with new computers, especially those that you can get at the same price.

Only somewhat related, but out curiosity, I'm assuming these are drop in replacements for proprietary doc, spreadsheets, presentation slides, PDFs, etc?

Are they inherently "better" at this point than their counterparts?

At this point shouldn't we just fight fire with fire? Make a another one, blondier, bustier, spouting the exact opposite thing.

There are some shows that I've rewatched so much that I can just listen to the audio and see the video in my head, so theoretically you can do both

Do those actually use phone hardware? Or is all the work done on a server?

OMG now I really wanna see one those famous DND groups trying to play a couple of sessions with some AI as the DM. Could be very entertaining in some very different ways.
