I wish any of the conspiracy theorists theories are the real theories.

They are all into pizzagate and flat earth, and not "huh, I bet the government's app is a peice of shit that's tracking me"

Didn't know that, I'll have to check it out

They have these at the local Canadian tire, they take 2-3 minutes to change the displayed price, flickering a dozen times as they do. Real slow epaper screens

Fold 7, love it for blending OSRS and YouTube.

I always go back to Prometheus when talking about the "Idiot Ball" because it’s the gold standard. You’ve got these world-class scientists sent on a trillion-dollar mission who don't even know what they’re doing there until they wake up from cryo, and then they immediately act like children playing in a backyard.

The second the sensors say the air is "breathable," they’re ripping their helmets off like they’ve never heard of a space-virus or a spore. It’s insane. Then you’ve got the biologist, a literal professional, seeing a hissing, alien "space-cobra" in a clear threater posture and his first instinct is to try and pet it like a stray cat.

And don't even get me started on the guy who literally mapped the cave with high-tech drones being the one who gets hopelessly lost in it. Or the "Prometheus School of Running Away from Things" where you run in a perfectly straight line under a falling, circular ship instead of just... stepping to the left? It’s like the script needed the plot to happen so badly that it just stripped every character of their survival instincts and professional training.

Compare that to competency porn shows, like the Martian, where they FEEL like the best of the best

Yea, I have a friend that recently moved to the states, and their rates jumped too.

They were on a local, government subsidised, $10/day program too!

God, that would be amazing. I pay $1200 CAD for my child care.

Rewatched it with my wife recently

Sat on the edge of my seat as the stories came together... Wife was completely non-plussed

I've wanted to illuminate my kick plates for a long time, starting with my master bathroom, and rolling out to my secondary and kitchen

Finally started today, with a 100w 24v converter, and a gledopto ZigBee controller

Installation was easy, and the controller was quickly picked up. I previously installed a GFCI protected outlet under my sink, so I just plugged it into there.

I don't have a motion sensor yet, so it's just a timed automation:

Day: bright white, about 40% brightness Evening: warm white, about 20% brightness After 10: almoast amber, and about 1% brightness, just enough to pee by.

Just wanna gloat for a moment.

Unlocked Basklisks earlier today, got about 25kc I'm to get my jaw. Deactivated the task, and moved on.

Feels great to be looking kinda badass

I bought several Sonoff mini4r to add some automation to my lights, and wanted to post a short review:

Pros:

  • price is excellent. Got 5 for <$50 cad.
  • Size is amazing, itsy Bitsy.
  • Build quality feels good.
  • Should be easy to flash, if my soldering skills were better, with exposed pads.
  • Connected to my home wifi quick and easy.
  • SonoffLAN easily picked them up, with full control.
  • Detached relay mode works great, with switch fallback if wifi goes down.
  • quick response time, under a second.

Cons:

  • only rated for 10-12 amps, means I can't install this on switch controlled outlets.
  • wish it had headers for flashing.
  • wifi only, wish there was a ZigBee model.

In the end, I'm likely to buy more, and some Shelly units for where I need 16-20 amp relays.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a thought. Occasionally, I stumble upon one of the flying island with a small pool teeming with a handful of fish or spot a group of ostriches roaming.

Now, I fully understand that this is merely a video game, and that these non-playable characters will respawn after the first blood moon as the game resets its content... However, I can't help but feel a twinge of hesitation when contemplating the idea of stripping the land bare, removing the fish, plants, and trees for a quick boost or, more likely, yet another ancient arowana for my sack (I've lost count at this point!).

Does anyone else experience this bittersweet melancholy when immersed in virtual worlds? do you take everything, or just what you need?

Been meaning to post this forever.

Built around a In Win 301c, and wanted a real quiet build, so i went with the Noctua D15 instead of the D14.

It does fit, but its almost impossible to do the clips up.
