I never got that song, why does anyone feel fly in a Pontiac G6?

A lot of the corporate shitheads in Alberta work for US companies. They should all be put on a bus and sent to Cotes and told to not look back.

It’s Alive

I am not to terribly familiar with python but after several hours of trial and error I got the script! I even created a new account and told admin that is what it is for, and they let me open the account.

I wrote the script and had Claude just check it over for me every time I came into an error. I think I learnt more python from Claude’s F ups on what I asked for help with than Claude actually helping.

I hate languages that require exact spaces, growing up I taught myself html and I was happy with not needing to know spaces and I could understand everything. Wish I also taught myself some more useful languages but here we are.

It looks like ourcommons.ca has an RSS feed.

*edit: looks like the RSS feed is bogus or at least I could not find it, easily.

I got into some trouble with posts being automated here because for whatever reason the script I was using was posting stuff three four times, but I will see what I can do.

So we are entering an even deeper ring of Capitalist hell, is what you are saying?

I would suggest write a script or have an AI write you a script to send you emails about new petitions.

I may have to look into this, I enjoy seeing petitions and trying to decide if I support them or not, or if the representative asking for signatures can go to hell!

Very true I will not deny this as a political activist myself but things take time.

So he thinks this Capitalist hell scape we are entering is Socialism got it. Would love to know what he thinks Communism is, is it just a dirty word he does not know like Socialism?

If zoning does not need to be changed or any other governmental BS doesn’t have to be involved sure, but I stand by my welcome to Bureaucracy statement.

Love the Beaverton, I was hoping it was an article but no it was just trying to get me to listen to the less included version of the weekly report. I pay for the inclusive version on Patreon.

Hey kiddos welcome to the world of bureaucracy

The group recommended the neighbourhood be named Sunrise and that the word in five Indigenous languages (Cree, Michif, Nakwe, Nakota and Dene) also be considered by the committee. In Cree, sunrise is translated as sakastew.

"Members recommended that Sunrise be used as an English term to support the broader non-Indigenous community of Saskatoon who may be challenged with the pronunciation of Indigenous words," the report says.

As a white woman all I hear in that quote is “Let’s be white about it but not to white!”

This is why we need to legalize the stuff so people are getting it from safe places and create safe injection sites, as well as recovery programs.

I originally thought it was an excessive amount of letters to describe those of us under the rainbow but no, it makes more sense in the context of the article I do not really agree with combining the two but to each their own I guess.

MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ stands for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual+. It's derived in part from the more commonly used initialisms MMIWG (missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls) and 2SLGBTQ+.

Michael Reddekopp spoke on behalf of Reddee Properties Inc., which owns six buildings downtown. He said his properties currently have six vacancies where thriving businesses once operated.

"If you go right in front of Midtown Plaza right now, the downtown is struggling with vagrancy, homelessness, crime and, in essence, some people would say it's rotting at its core," Reddekopp said.

It is almost like this is a different issue, that needs some serious social services work put behind it. Not something to say in an article about how the city is going to try to get this Link system working.

A report from Amnesty International on human rights and the World Cup warned last week about the potential for protests if "the U.S. team is drawn to play in Canada in later rounds and ICE personnel are deployed to provide security."

Must be great to be a high school drop out who wants to see the world and play cops and robbers.

Fair enough, but then why should federal and provincial taxpayers pony up an estimated $800 million for the same venue? That's the plan, if you want to call it that.

It's an excessive amount of money, even before you consider the longstanding objection in Canada to using taxpayer dollars to fund arenas for sports teams.

We may have entered an era when such projects can't proceed without a billionaire partner who owns the major tenant, like an NHL or MLB team.

In the meantime, Saskatoon soldiers on with proposed funding for the arena district that seems increasingly precarious, perhaps even pure fantasy.

I hate that “we” are expecting capital from a cooperation or rich person to fund our public things. I get and understand why people do not want their taxes to go up but at the same time do we want to live in a world where everything is sold? I like my healthcare and my drug prices where they are!

As the title says my apologies for spamming the group and Lemmy.ca. I have killed the bots and I will do better at posting articles I have read.
