I was basically told the other day, that if I (as a Network Engineer) don't start using LLMs more regularly, that the vibe coders on my team will replace me with agents.

Let that sink in.

Imagine, an agent, configuring a BGP session, and validating it. MPLS. DWDM.

Yep. Me too. I'm fucking terrified.

Your soldering looks much cleaner than mine, great job! Keep at it. It's a unique and fun skill.

I found https://github.com/TwiN/gatus recently and its been a welcomed alternative to UptimeKuma (I have many hosts I monitor, so having a configuration file makes it far easier).

I run a Prometheus server at work, for doing ICMP latency checks, thats all I need at home. Gatus is super simple for my needs.

I forward all gmail's to my new domain, exported my YouTube subscriptions to newpipe and freetube - the only thing I'm working through is TVs.. That is still using my actual YouTube account... Google Photos is, unfortunately a thing still, as-is Google Keep. I like using my S-Pen stylus for random notes.

Not planning to change OSes for banking app compatibility. Although, after thinking about it, I really should consider just using a "clean" browser (librewolf, is what I use on desktop) and "dirty" browser (chromium - very little privacy plugins for temperamental websites) -- so I can care less about an app supporting a feature.

It's getting better; Proton has really advanced this.

What's hurt this movement, is the lack of support of AntiCheat games, whether that being due to kernel level anticheat or games not supporting server side anticheat.

I gave up Rust when I moved to Linux.

They are changing the game from building a cozy PvP Minecraft, to a clan based wargame.

Cozy players, don't cheat, clans do (Not all, of course).
