That is the most relatable justification for a relatable comic I have ever seen.

I’m the person who can’t go on a hike, because I stop too much to look at stuff and tell everyone with me all about it if they say no when I ask if they know. My hikes turn into leisurely educational nature strolls.

I had one with a similar story, he taught the rest of my cats that inside is better, and that’s even been passed on to the newest cats even tho he’s not around anymore. Nobody wants to go outside, even on leash.

My cats sit by the glass storm door and watch me go through it. Not a whisker twitch to move. They are inside only and have no real desire to go out. All my cats have been like that. They are spoiled rotten and know it. Not willing to give up a good thing.

Presumably yes.

But for a bigger picture question, are all of those others able to interbreed with each other, as well? If yes, they are basically like different races of human or breed of domestic animal. If not, it gets much more interesting in terms of classification.

I’ve never had to get a vehicle inspected in Wisconsin as far as I can recall. There are some areas that do emissions testing but that’s about it.

Honestly, that’s probably for the best. Don’t need more people like that, and if they feel strongly enough to take such drastic measures, they absolutely would have passed on that mindset.

Archive link because this is too important for people to be turned away by a paywall

The takeaway that I got here is basically that even a burner phone can hypothetically be linked to you, if you take it home with you after a protest. And if you aren’t using a burner phone, they can get so much granular historical data about you that your whole life is laid bare.

And zero warrants required, because of course this needs to be abused as much as possible.

What do normal people even do about this sort of thing? Flock cameras at least can be disabled or hacked, but this? We don’t have access to cell towers nor the ability to choose which we connect to, we don’t meaningfully have the ability to opt out of data tracking.

I’m looking at getting a used one with a lot of miles for that much 😭 so yes.

The illusion of choice is even more illusory than it seems.

Even if there was real choice inherent in the systems themselves, most people have limited ability to take advantage of said choice without completely starting over, usually with damn near nothing.

What I mean is most people aren’t wealthy, they don’t have in-demand skills, they don’t have family abroad, they can’t get sponsors to other countries. That means they are effectively stuck wherever they are, until something so bad happens they have to abandon their lives and flee.

Not to be “that guy” but they left the solar system in 2012 and 2018, as in crossed the heliopause and the “wall of fire”.

Your point stands, but I thought you might be interested to know that :)

Here’s an article about it https://www.iflscience.com/nasas-voyager-spacecraft-found-a-30000-50000-kelvin-wall-at-the-edge-of-our-solar-system-81411

Yeah, there was another account, cosmicpancake, doing the same thing earlier in the day. I didn’t realize they were not the same account, so I overestimated the age even tho the account page said it was an hour old when I looked at it. Figured it was a federation bug.

Having seen an absolute gob of these comments, I’m inclined to agree. They all read largely the same way, there’s an awful lot of comments for being a 1 day account (easily rivaling some of the most prolific humans we’ve had), some of them make very little sense, and they are all top level with very very very few replies to anyone, but they still address other commenters in their top level comment which is super weird. They also only seem to comment on images. Or at least I haven’t seen any that didn’t.

There was another account, cosmicpancake, that was basically the same. I didn’t realize they were not the same account. That one was purged.
