@nynex Oh it gets so much worse. Or better?

The stream that runs through Shitterton is called the Shitter, because apparently people used to use it as a, well, a shitter. And in case you're wondering whether that whole region is just all toilet humor, you'll be delighted to learn that the Shitter flows into the River Piddle.

Well played, Dorset. Well played.

@Nemo @Reshirams_Rad_Slam Yep, Yudkowski and his clique are essentially a cult. Their offshoot group, the Zizians, certainly were one.

@naught101 The Dune TTRPG by Modiphius might be what you're looking for. The setting itself is inherently political, but the system also includes really slick rules for Intrigue (high-stakes negotiations or literal palace intrigue), Espionage, and Warfare. Worth a look.

@Stamets We're moving, and the thought has occurred to me more than once that maybe we could just leave our garage door open overnight and just see how much of all this clutter we could get rid off that way.

@Shkshkshk @rpg That is unsettling and really, really cool.

@Shkshkshk @rpg Given that magic and high fantasy are commonplace in D&D and the average character sees ten impossible things before breakfast, it'd be hard to pull off something truly confusing/surprising.

Maybe something like the Borg that very distinctly meld technology with organics, using technology that's utterly alien to a fantasy setting, like calling in an orbital bombardment or plasma beam rifles or energy shields.
