More like I'm worried that others don't get the same level of attention as her.

If that was true, why is she annoying? If you want others to have the same level of attention that means the attention she's getting is ok? So... What makes her annoying?

Let's say that you're just jealous of the attention she gets

Idk. But I think all of them, including Greta, deserve as much praise as Greta is getting.

How is she annoying tho? She's doing what most of us are afraid of doing. It's not even like she's bragging too much. Yeah, she's getting a lot of attention, but since she's using that in the right direction, it's really ok.

In my case, it was mostly sexism.

Nothing wrong with her. I was just sexist, ageist and a coward.

Saw a woman trying her best to make a change and getting praised for it. Decided she was somehow annoying and didn't deserve all the attention she was getting.

Well, I'm not like I used to be.

I can't believe I used to hate this woman. She's so badass.

Damn, I'm homeless.

The Martian Chronicles is the only short story collection I've read. So something like that would be great. But I'm open to other kinds of recs too.

I want books with good enough prose tho. Bad or flat prose is a turn off for me.

I just decided to read this book and notices that there is a note on each chapter. Does it add to the story in some way? Is it at least interesting?

Would you approve of this for a good purpose? Just asking. Won't actually do it.

(In all seriousness, don't)

I'm looking for something like 'A Fire Upon the Deep' or 'The Stars my Destination'. There should be a lot of world building and the plot shouldn't linger in just one place most of the book.

I had begun reading a short story or a novel on gutenberg.org couple of years ago (Those who don't know, it's a site where you can find all kinds of public domain ebooks.) The story was set in a distant future where people time travel to various time periods of the past and live there and thereby drain resources of the past. There was some kind of structure called time dome or smth like that. It read from the pov of a guy called Ted, Tom or Taylor. I had to uninstall my browser and therefore lose all data. Tried to find it, but couldn't. It was interesting enough for me to remember even today.

Edit: I can't believe this myself, but I somehow found it and it was actually reaalllyy easy. Took me like 30 seconds. I just went to Project Gutenberg, opened the books about time travel section, scrolled down and down and there it was... Tyrants of Time by Milton Lesser. Even though I read it in Gutenberg.org, not once did I look up in Gutenberg itself. I made social media posts, googled it, asked chatgpt and all that. I have no idea why I didn't look it up in Gutenberg itself. And the structure I called 'Time Dome' was actually Eradrome, it's a place that facilitates time travel. And the protagonist is actually Tedor Barwan. Damn, I'm really stupid!!

I tried to migrate from mastodon.social to vivaldi for the 1000+ character limit. I found out that it doesn't display favorites from accounts that aren't on vivaldi. I made an account on toot.cat and the same thing happened. Also I can't see the trending section in my toot.cat account. Isn't mastodon supposed to show faves from all servers? Why is this happening?

I vaguely remember this text from a meme or a comment from somewhere. If this was already posted in lemmy itself, I apologise for reposting.

It happens only when I open the "home" timeline. The trending, local, and federated timelines still load normally. Am I the only one getting this error? Can I fix it somehow?

I've done this before but I forgot how to. I don't even remember if I did it with the same client. I totally can't find a way.
