I’ve heard it called “Technician’s Curse” and it applies to other trades too: if the person who can fix the problem is readily available, the problem cannot be replicated.

Guest checkout, which we added last year, is another way for family members and friends to Gift Steam users with a digital card anytime.

Aw, see that’s the thing. Gay people drink their coffee iced.

Gait* refers to the way you move your legs

No. Regression to a bartering system would still be regression. Imagine a better world, not a previous world.

I had a similar but different experience. My first in-person introduction to Linux was Ubuntu via some training for a job. When the class referred to it as Linux, our instructor would tell us “Technically it’s Ubuntu, not Linux” so I thought Ubuntu was an entirely separate OS that I had just never heard of before

If you're using a desktop environment you can probably just search for screenshot and the tool will come up. On KDE it’s called Spectacle

I’ll suck ya dick once a week if you come over here and meal prep for me

I mean let’s be real, you have to use distilled water anyways if you’re using it to cool electronics. The odds that they are buying distilled water instead of distilling it themselves are incredibly fucking low given the fact that a water distillation system costs less than a server rack and buying distilled water is fucking expensive

I mean they could be, but there’s nothing stopping the ultra rich from spending less than one dinners’ worth of money on a salt water distillation system for the money printer

Hey I just posted about my head empty experience too.

I wonder if it’s like this for you too - when you forcibly visualize something like you described, does it “disable” your eyes?

For me, when I have to consciously imagine something it effectively replaces my actual vision whether my eyes are open or not

I have no inner monologue and I have aphantasia (can’t see images in my mind without tremendous effort).

I can think in detail about what I’m going to say, but at least for me it feels more like “motion” in my brain. When it comes to things like calculations or decisions, it’s like waiting for an old browser to load - there’s something going on in the back but I only have access to that information after a decision is made.

I used to be in therapy and “what was your line of thought in that moment?” Is a difficult question for two different reasons depending on the situation. In some cases, I may literally not know why I did something. In other cases, the level of consideration was so deep that putting into words is a Herculean task.

I’ve read online that it’s possible to force an inner monologue by training your brain to work more slowly and intentionally, but I have no interest in that

TLDR: Hobo Johnson did a musical rendition of some select quotes from the article. If the article is too cumbersome to read, listen to the song. It gets a lot of the point across.

To preface, I kind of know the answer to this. I've put on weight before but I was hoping to get advice on how to go about better/more efficiently. I guess my question is really: what are healthy high calorie foods I can use to put on weight?

I've been underweight pretty much my entire life. I don't think I have a chronic eating disorder, but there are times where I just don't want to eat. I believe, however, that's actually not my largest issue.

I'm potentially too health conscious. I'm vegetarian by accident (So I dated this girl right...) mostly, and as a result I eat a lot of nutrient-dense but calorically-low foods. I'm currently sitting just under 56kg (125 lbs) at 180cm (5'11ish). My plan currently is to just eat more often, and slowly ramp up how much I eat at each meal. About 6 years back I managed to hit 77kg by eating 4/5 large meals per day but then lost it all over the years by being sedentary and losing my appetite.

I really enjoy rereading my past conversations, whether it's texts or comments here on Lemmy. I do it pretty much every day, and I just think about the different things that could have been said. I don't obsess over it, I basically treat it like another feed. When I get bored of Home and All, I go through my own profile.

Do you ever reread past conversations here or elsewhere? How often?

I believe these guys might be related to the kittens I've posted, which were rescued from the neighbors yard after 5 days of crying
