The content on here went straight into the garbage the moment they were allowed back. I'm sure I'm not alone in demanding they be defederated again immediately. They serve no positive purpose.

Every social media site is overrun by hundreds of Russian bots, some worse than others (Meta products). What can we do to combat this? Should those of us who don't want to live in a fascist dictatorship be running our own bot farms? Something has to be done to change the iron grip they have on the narrative of history and reality to the common man.

How can I make leftist bots to fight this plague?

There's enough available research to show that Russia is running massive bot programs, you're either living under a rock, ignorant, or it benefits you to deflect from the issue.

Edit 2: The user with the name like dimesix (I've blocked them) has gone through and downvoted all the comments he could on my profile. I wonder why this thread upsets him to such a degree that he'd do that?

I'm fascinated by their steam system but it's got me curious, having so much steam being used for everything, is the city more humid than the average?

Edit: I appreciate the answers, but I was hoping there was some research on this instead of guesstimations. Also, some of your responses are really general as if you think I'm talking about any city in America, but you should look up New York Cities steam system, it's very interesting and unique and has been in operation since the 1800s.

I have seen so many different approaches to dating be responded to by Lemmings as inappropriate or creepy, much of it hypocritical to other responses, but I digress: is there ANY appropriate way that everyone can agree on for men to approach having a relationship with women?

From the collective consciousness of Lemmy comments I have read, my impression is that the only appropriate thing is to be born into a marriage and never make any moves or even so much as look at a woman in your lifetime.

It may be too early to call, but to me it's looking like democrats are going to be losing for a long long time if leftists are stuck moronically fighting each other over invented strawmen. Honestly the interaction was so bizarre and nonsensical and polarized I have to wonder if the comm is an organized effort to disrupt leftists.

Feels like all of a sudden every thread I open has the worst takes in the comments: religious apologists, conservative propagandists, people defending the worst abuses of power, people stanning for CEOs, middle managers and other corporate ghouls, people defending shitty landlords, etc.

Is this Reddit now? Is this going to be the death of Lemmy as a bastion of progressives?

I'm not a fan.
