Zines has been a thing forever. A zine is a magazine that is a non-commercial, often homemade, online and usually about specialized and nisch subjects.

I used to browse BMEzine a lot about 25 years ago. They've been a thing since 1994. It's short for "Body Modification Ezine", where Ezine means electronic magazine.

I'm not some old Unix hacker, but after 20 years with 'Linux', I can without any doubt say that Linux-based operating systems—that's meant to be stable and reliable—is stable and reliable.

They're light years ahead of Microsoft and their operating system. Even Microsoft knows that. That's why they keep replacing Windows with Linux for their backend.

With that said. Linux is not perfect. And while I like Linux and believe it's overall a really good option for a lot of people, especially beginners, I'm not in any way some sort of fanboy. I'm quite the opposite. I'm the first person to be vocal about everything that's wrong with it. :D

In regards to intuitiveness, I believe the issue is you here. ;) It sounds like you're an experienced Windows users, and therefore also set in your ways in regards how Windows work. However. Linux is not Windows. Different systems may work differently.

I had the same issue when I started using Linux. I previously only had experience with Windows, and I tried to use Linux like it was Windows. This didn't work at all, and it made it into a quite frustrating and poor experience. :)

It's hard to give any sort of help with no information. You should have tried to debut it at least. :)

What case do you have? CPU fan? Case fans? How have you set it all up?

What output to stdout do you get from the AppImages?

I don't know of the issue is ZorinOS or you, but have you tried other options? I have no experience with Zorin, but I know that Linux Mint is a great option for a beginner (as well as experienced users).

Heat or no heat, if you leave your kids at age 2 and 4 alone in your car, you're clearly a stupid idiot who lacks all form of intelligence.

It really angers me when their stupid actions affect innocent and helpless people like these two poor kids.

Paying for software is an exception, not a rule.

And we only have proprietary software because there's greedy people out there that take advantage of people who don't know better.

With that said. I'm not saying that developers shouldn't get paid for what they do. They absolutely should! And a lot of them do, even when the code is free as in free beer and free speech.

I've been using Mailbox.org, both private and for my business, for 5 years now. I have nothing bad to say about them or their service.

Well. I would like to see a referral program! They have a lot of paying customers because of me, but you don't get anything in return.

No worries!

I understand that it might not be for everyone. I'm generally speaking against unethical soul sucking algorithms, which is why I don't use social medias (other than this account and one on GoToSocial). However. I find the algorithm for YouTube to be good as long as you stay aware of it.

Talk to the person in charge of the meeting room. Every meeting room should have good ventilation, electricity and water. It's like human rights kind of stuff. :D

Those sounds interesting. I'll have to look them up. Thank you!

I have the Gateron G Pro 3.0 White switches, which I like, considering their low price. However. They're not that smooth compared to the Red variant.

I previously had the Red variant, which I found to be smoother. And to my understanding this has to do with the springs being lighter in the white ones, which is making them feel less smooth? To my understanding, a heavier spring covers up the, err.. un-smoothness?

Anyway. I don't want the most smoothest switch ever, and I'm too old and too tired to go the custom switch route again. I'm okay with 'good enough'.

I haven't kept up with this community for like 5 years or so now. I assume we've seen like a billion new switches since then. Do you have any recommendations?

I have an old Google account that I only use for one specific thing today: YouTube recommendations.

Their algorithm is actually decent. Which is not something I hear myself very often. And while it can be a trap, it does actually recommend me a fair bit of high quality content as long as I stay away from the obvious traps, make sure to block channels I don't like, and use the feature "not interested" on videos that I don't like.

However. I would like to only use my web feed client and no Google account at all, but I would then miss out on the recommended videos.

Is there some privacy respecting alternative to this that I'm not aware of?
