The readme concerning the LLM/AI is downright terrible. Which portion were generated with LLM? There is no scope for what the LLM is used, so can we assume that everything is vibe-coded at this point?

No but they have been steering towards practices that makes people uncomfortable.

They are slowly replacing part of their ecosystem with proprietary modules or modules with permissive license and people have seen this behaviour enough to know what the end goal is

Nothing like getting stuck in traffic underground

Old School RuneScape

I think it's worth learning, but I am tech literate. Using something like unraid or trueNAS is also a good way to start as it streamlines a lot of things.

But I like to know what's going on, so Proxmox is good for me.

1 single HDD? I'd recommend you RAID up some more... or at least take my recommendation on testing your backups

RAID is not a backup solution, but an availability one. If your system doesn't need high availability, a single HDD is acceptable if you can live with a few hours/days of downtime.

I am saying that because the prices of any storage is insane nowadays and I want people to see that 1 HDD is good enough to get started, either for homelabbing or for learning a more professional environment.

Proxmox can be daunting for beginners. I prefer it myself because it is free, but it took me a while to be comfortable in it and even then, I do basic stuff.

They never do. They want to be cashflow positive every month and still keep the equity.

Starting by not charging over half the mortgage would already be better.

After that, it would depend on the specific of the apartment itself.

As soon as VC money comes in, the founders cash out and the enshittification begins as the VC will be expecting returns on their money.

This is my unverified understanding of the situation.

KeepassXC team added Copilot to their workflow to manage PRs and code some basic (according to KeepassXC) stuff.

Not charging over well over the mortgage to ypur tenant (OP's words).

OP is doing exactly the same thing as property management companies, but since he is a poor landlord, he is somewhat justified in his decisions?

Get the fuck out of here

Hello,

I am building a NAS to add to my homelab and I was wondering what is the best way to interface it to the rest of my services.

I have a beelink s12 mini pc as my server that runs proxmox, and I bought a Radxa Rock5C thats runs OpenMediaVault with a hat for 5 sata drives to act as a NAS.

I have a few VLAN to isolate different part of my network. Proxmox interface is accessible through the management VLAN (99) and the services it host have the Services VLAN (20) for the network. The Services VLAN is only accessible through a Wireguard interface and has access to internet.

So my question is as follows :

Should my new NAS be on the management VLAN (99) or on the Services VLAN (20)?

I was thinking of never allowing users to access the NAS directly and assign the space I need through NFS shares passed through the proxmox server as a mounted drive. That would isolate the NAS into the management VLAN and not expose it on the Services VLAN where the rules are looser. Is that a sensible thing to do?

Otherwise, what are my options to properly map the NAS?

Thanks

Hello,

I have two young kids and lately, I am having a lot of anxiety and sadness thinking about how the current climate crisis will affect them.

I also have regrets because I decided to have children while knowing about the climate crisis. At the time, I was optimistic, but no so much anymore.

It has been hitting me hard the last few days. How do you cope/deal with this as a parent?

Thanks
