Build a large enough magnetic rail launcher and you could save shit tons of fuel. Get a ship doing 2000 mph before it leaves the ground and needs its rockets and you'll have a pretty good head start.

You're right I was thinking for some reason AGM batteries weren't lead acid batteries, but they are.

Lifep04 works great for things like this because they're very good at taking on a full charge without damage, compared to lead acid. The Prius in particular doesn't even need much of a 12v battery because it doesn't provide the power to start the engine. It just does the lights, ECU, and it flips a 12v relay to start the car engine, which the bigger hybrid battery cranks over.

Also, to my knowledge, all Prius since Gen 2 (like 2004-2009) don't come with a lead acid 12v battery and replacing one with a lead battery could cause you some warranty issues. If course, I'd imagine a home built battery could also cause a warranty issue. Lol

Chasing perfection was my sanity back when I was a welder.

No it doesn't. Something like roofing can't be a minimum wage job, no matter what the minimum wage is. It's a much harder job than something like a target stocker. So it would still just mean all roofing jobs would go to Mexican lobor, or your forced to work at minimum wage doing a hard job like roofing, or trying to find a job that's less abusive to your body for the same amount of money, but there's only so many of those jobs to go around.

Wage earnings stuff is an independent issue from foreign labor. if you want to fix wage issues minimum wage increases is a futile effort that will only cause inflation and devalue anyone's savings or retirement. If you want to fix the minimum wage issue you're trying to fix it from the wrong end. You need to create a maximum wage. Tax wealth, tax the loopholes used to avoid paying tax on that wealth, and tax a higher and higher rate the more you earn. if the top earners were prevented from exponentially increasing their wealth their wouldn't be a need to constantly try to increase the minimum wage with futile results. Right now the more most people make just turns into the more companies will charge to increase profits and earn even more wealth. if the rich were prevented from gaining more wealth after a certain point, the wealth would spread out to competition and pay and benefits. Imagine if all these board members and ceo's and billionaires couldn't earn more than a couple million dollars a year before paying everything else into taxes instead of making a hundred million a year.

I used to work blue collar. I'm cool with immigrants coming here to work, but there's no denying that it caused lower wages for people that are drywallers, roofers, framers, and such. Especially prevalent with roofing. A company using citizens that need to provide for their families in the US couldn't compete against a company with 10 Mexican guys that all live in a couple apartments and send their extra money down to their families in Mexico where the money goes so much further. They're just able and willing to work for so much less that it chokes out people with their families in this country.

Not a whole lot. Only around $5 a pound. If there really is 3 grams of gold and you got the chemicals to dissolve and collect it safely, that's worth waaay more. 3g of gold would be worth around $500.

They don't just read plated. They'll recognize scratches and dents on specific vehicles and also facial recognition. Basically complete human and machine tracking. Cities with flock cameras everywhere can track every move you make.

Back in my day we figured out how to take care of this without getting mom and dad involved. Lol

It's like from a fondue fountain.

The non existent community moderation is by design and purpose. Valve wants it that way. They refuse to be any sort of gatekeepers in it.

You don't know what jobs they cut. It was likely service offices and phone help and secretaries and maintenance people and commissioned sales people and such. They couldn't have cut 30,000 programmers and hardware engineers.

Twas the night before Christmas

and all through the house

everyone felt shitty

even the mouse.

With mom at the whore house

and dad smokin grass

I settled down

for a nice piece of ass

when out on the lawn

arose such a clatter

I sprang from my piece

to see what was the matter

and out on the lawn

I seen some big dick

and I knew in a moment

it must be St.Nick

he flew down my chimney like a bat out of hell

and i knew in a moment

the fucker had fell

He filled all our stocking with pretzels and beer

and a big rubber dick

for my brother, the queer.

then he rose up the chimney with a thunderous fart

the son of a bitch blew my chimney apart

cussing and cursing as he rode out of sight.

pissing on all

having one hell of a night.

I made a few lyric changes from when I learned this one in grade school, circa 1994ish. The great ones will last the generations. Merry Christmas!

Haven't seen any info over Lemmy about it, so I thought I'd make a post to answer any questions for those interested. I was worried about how well it would work on t mobile in the US, since the phone is missing a band T-Mobile relies on. So far I haven't had any issues though. The cities I usually travel around have had plenty of coverage for data without it and near as I can tell the wifi calling and texting has also been great. I came from a samsung note 20 ultra on t mobile, and switching was as simple as putting my sim card in the RM 11 pro and powering it on.

I have the one default user "deck" in desktop mode. It looks like it's set to a standard account type.

I can't add a user or change this without a pop up asking "Authentication is required to change user data" and wanting "authenticating as root" password.

Leaving it blank fails. Putting in my sudo password that I have set and at this point double checked multiple times from within Konsole fails as well. I'll go in Konsole and type "passwd" then I'll type the current password and it will say "changing password for deck" and the change works fine. I'll close Konsole, but still have the same issue outside of konsole. Entering a password fails when trying to modify user or update anything.

I can't update anything on desktop now, and I can't figure out what the heck the issue with it is.

Does anyone have a clue? Thanks

Edit\update: Tried a million things. Couldn't get back root access. Made a steam OS boot image on a micro SD card and used it in the steam deck to re-install steam OS but keep my downloads\user files etc. This worked and got back "deck" as admin account as it should be. All better.

But no pun in ten did.

When using the Gboard keyboard in thunder, every time I go back to the main page the Gboard keyboard pops back up. Has anyone figured out how to use Gboard without this happening?

All of a sudden my clutch went from totally normal to very hard to press down. It's now been this way for quite a long time. It's a hydraulic clutch (clutch was replaced by a shop a few months prior to the issue, but me and the shop....did not get along.) in an 06 tribute with a 4 cylinder motor.

Looking for what I'll need done in order to not have to break my leg to shift the thing. Thanks.

I figure it's something the shop didn't do correctly, as it was supposed to have new flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bearing and throw-out bearing but there's no way to verify they replaced it all or did it correctly and the problem started suddenly about 3 months later.
