Come on skipper we need more power than that!!! /s haha

I was just joking earlier though for previous comment. Hopefully there is a good chance over there but only time will tell

So that's where they got the idea for Toph. Its a real thing! Huh the more you know

Can't be that low

I get where you are coming from. Out of all of the billionaires he is one that is one of the least bad out of the rest of them, and is doing plenty of good things himself. He got that wealth from Steam doing so well over the years co.pared to other billionaires that did the shadiest things imaginable

I don't agree with his yachts business yet I agree with his side project of making boats specifically for ocean research. I don't agree with him still getting paid so much today, yet I agree that he pays and treats his employees and customers well

End of the day it's another option to get open phones that can have bootloader unlocked to change OS, and not be locked down. It is good to have more options currently where there are few.

Many online PC gamers have this opinion too so overall its more so a matter of time and comes down to if Valve really wants to then they will.

Can't wait to read a near-future article about all those employees making a new company that is unionized private non-stock and does better than Zuck's Facebook. Making an open-source Facebook alternative so good that they end uo replacing Facebook altogether

Also, some people were open to making an open source business community on this platform to share how to get different businesses up and running, and how to grow/maintain them. Wonder if they would still like to do that

What are the chances the people of Utah work together to stop it and reverse it from being built?

Dont know how it is overall in Utah currently.

Would have to be a big problem to focus on by Salt Lake City people and neighboring states assisting

[–] Batmorous@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Everyone make sure to keep getting more people active!! The more of us doing the better!! Plenty already are but the more people we can get hopeful, mobilized to get things done, and engaged to stay focused the more gets done to make life better for us all!

[–] Batmorous@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Let's make it happen in every state!! We got this!!!!

[–] Batmorous@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Its not the only way its just what the system encourages. It all depends on the person if they fully go through with it

[–] Batmorous@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I get what you mean. The country needs way more coordination and getting others active alongside themselves in person and online regardless. If a company fires them then they come together and make a better new company letting people know about it so they switch to them too.

People don't want to do it alone. Many people would be up for being against all this but not solo. Unity needs to keep being built and having people focused on it all

[–] Batmorous@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

Now we need way more states joining in with Hawaii!! Make it illegal in every state that we can!

Canada can ramp up their already existing manufacturing with European Defense Firms

A gaming phone controller accessory that connects physically to phone (With same layout and functionality like the Steam Controller, Steam Deck, and Steam Frame Controllers) Would be cheaper than regular Steam Controller

With FEX making x86 Steam games capable of working on ARM devices it will be cool to game on mobile with mobile controller that has the dual touch control pad things the hardware above has to go with the phone and what better way than another option aside from the actual controller. Plus it gives phone more of a Gameboy Advance type of feel to play like that

Maybe to incentivize more people to have that you can use gaming phone accessory wirelessly or wired connected to any Steam hardware for using your phone with the gaming phone controller accessory as controllers too

Like the idea? Not like the idea? Anyone wanna suggest changes/additions/etc to the idea to be better be my guest.

Also if anyone wants to suggest other stuff Valve can do then please do!! All of us together can ask for the ecosystem to grow in ways that are good and fun for us all!!

Trying to help make gaming better for us all!

Edit: Looking at comments the post does sound like a eh idea but it is salvageable initiative. This post was mainly meant to be focused on extending that dual trackpad for mouse/etc functionality with another addition to the family for mobile to give mobile users ability to have those trackpads at lower price point.

But what would be cooler to see is more companies make their own versions of optional variant controllers with dual trackpads into their own controllers and mobile controllers cases to have more ability to use it as mouse/etc in-game/in other software/operating system as we do in Steam Deck already but having that functionality on phones/other non-mobile hardware across a larger breadth of controllers and devices

Think of This As: What Would You Suggest To People Who Want to Grow And Be Part of Open Source Community?

What should I/other people know about for events to go to, and what groups to join to be part of online to help make the most positive impacts? What organizations should I get in contact with to assist their missions to grow what is possible?

(Whatever you suggest can help other people too who are just now and onward joining the community. Think of any way that can really grow it)

I am learning a lot by doing for various things for my own projects and contributions to open source but what would I have to do to fully be part of the community In-Person and Online to grow it in various good ways?

Near-term I want to help in spare time with growing Mobile, UI/UX, Marketing, Ways to Show Which Projects Need Funding, Bring New Devs To Open Source, Ways to Help Encourage Collaboration on Projects That Need Devs/Other Fields, Animation, and Social Media parts of open source community.

Also want to grow long-term the worldwide movement to make open source transportation of anything and everything a reality: HSR, trains, trams, cars, bike-cars, bikes, walking bikes, submarines, motorcycles, VTOLs, airships. etc

Help me/other people help you all! Please and thanks!

I enjoy PeerTube for what it is. But we have to talk about how PeerTube is I would say the one open source app that is getting the least amount of new users

So wanted to bring up some points on how we can improve it in some ways:

  • It is too complex with not enough up to date guides and videos on how to set it up for most people
  • Need new open source frontend client mobile apps to make it simpler to sign up, sign in, & watch videos/channels on it
  • The website for sign up is not very user-friendly and like a semi-maze for people who are new

Anything else you would like to add or say about PeerTube in general?

It's a phenomenal project and backend will of course stay the same but it needs a better pipeline of people and creators to it

I was trying to think for a couple days on what can be done to make Linux phones a reality. Then I realized the EU is already pushing for more Open Source/ Linux to be made so why not make the most of it?

So if I may make a couple suggestions for Europe Linux enthusiasts and collectively all of us to push for:

1st. For EU and Europe to partner up with PostmarketOS, Mobian, Ubuntu Touch, and FSF Librephone Project to fund/produce/distribute open source repairable changable OS linux phones . Then for future tablets.

2nd. For EU and Europe to partner up with KDE, Framework, and Tuxedo Computers to fund/produce/distribute Laptops/Computers

Linux Community over there has so much ability to grow Linux if everyone there collectively gets it done. I humbly request you do that and I’ll do the same. Who should I call to get all this going as well? Want to help do this in a way that benefits all sides while keeping those projects independent

(I would have posted this on LinuxPhone but this community is way bigger and still open source related)

Really hoping all of you in and out of Europe and EU can push for it to be done.

I was trying to think for a couple days on what can be done to make Linux phones a reality. Then I realized the EU is already pushing for more Open Source/ Linux to be used so why not make the most of it?

So if I may make a couple suggestions for Europe Linux enthusiasts and collectively all of us to push for:

1st. For EU and Europe to partner up with PostmarketOS, Mobian, Ubuntu Touch, Edited In: Next Iteration of GrapheneOS for their partnership, and FSF Librephone Project to fund/produce/distribute open source repairable changable OS linux phones . Then for future tablets. To have multiple eggs developing

2nd. For EU and Europe to partner up with KDE, Framework, and Tuxedo Computers to fund/produce/distribute Laptops/Computers

Edited In: 3rd. Partner up with OEM Manufacturers such as Nokia and Motorola. Both of whom have good track records

Edited In: Maybe Latin, African, and Asian Countries can partner up as well to make it happen even faster. But the most protections are within the EU so far

Please recommend any resources/tools you can about learning more about:

  • Game Dev (Have some prior experience)
  • Programming (Less than a year of Software Engineer experience)
  • Storytelling (Environmental, Spoken Implied, Etc)
  • Communication
  • Team/Studio Creation/Management/Growth
  • Physics
  • Concept Art Direction
  • Art
  • Animation
  • RTS Specific Dev.

I do not plan to do this all alone but would like to give these projects a good start by setting up the underlying systems well.

I can search all the above but who knows maybe some of you have tips and tricks/resources that others don't know about

Also, open to any suggestions for the fangames and want to grow them with the community so let me know!! Looking to build out and implement features wanted by the fans for the fans

Currently building out pre-production for the games, documentation, overall roadmap, projects websites, community servers on Stoat, Forgejo for version control, personal account for contacting me on Mastodon mainly, volunteer team for various aspects, covering project updates here on Lemmy/Mastodon/Peertube/etc

Taking various aspects of inspiration from StarCraft and Age of Empires Series for Fallout RTS, and Elder Scrolls RTS (Especially campaigns). Looking at other RTS games for more inspiration as well such as Empire Earth, Star Wars: Empire At War, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Halo Wars, Warcraft, and Command & Conquer. Open to any suggestions for anything to look at systems, visuals, audio, story, etc wise to make them better overtime
