Nice! I really like that and I’m sure most people will too. Thank you again! :)

Yep, I think that covers it better and doesn’t leave any wiggle room for those in bad faith to keep saying “oops!”

Thank you!

Hi Dohpaz42! Welcome and thank you for doing a bit of a pulse check and getting some input from the community.

I’m one of the many lurkers that typically just browses and rarely comments or posts but I wanted to post a little feedback on your proposed updated rules:

I would like to ask that you consider including something about the comics themselves being cropped/modified before posting.

I know there will be times where a person mistakenly uploads a modified one randomly found on the net, but recently there have been a ton of posts (comments as well) where the one user in particular, decided that cropping the images are justified and will link to places like Reddit or the main website for their comic (e.g. xkcd.com) without the direct link/attribution. Followed by taunting others who point it out in other threads. It is causing unnecessary drama in the community obviously.

Thank you

Some would say it’s the original prequel meme

As someone who has had a lot of responsibilities thrown onto me way earlier in life than most, I can share what I have learned and what has helped me.

Do note that this is not a one size fits all solution, especially since I don’t know what your day to day looks like, I hope you find something here useful:

As a few have already said starting with a general to-do list is a great start. Most phones have an app already installed that you can use.

Prioritize what you need to do first. Life can absolutely get overwhelming very quickly, even when you aren’t quite ready for it. Which can only compound things. If you tackle the most important things first, the smaller things won’t feel as stressful as time passes.

Set a specific day and time for routine tasks. If you deal with trash and recycling on set days for example, spend 10-20 minutes getting things ready to go to the curb or the dumpster the night before. Rushing the day of only adds more stress. The biggest benefit is you can set a task for specific days, which is absolutely helpful.

For smaller things: Set a time limit. Spend no more than let’s say 30 minutes to an hour on one task. If you have an overly messy living situation for example; focus on making just one area of a room look the way you want vs dealing with the entire room at once. It may take longer than you want, but the more you get done like this the better you’ll feel.

Do not be afraid to ask for help. This is a big one that a lot of people, myself included have to get past. You’re only one person and unlike we’re taught, you can’t do everything alone. Especially if you’re overwhelmed and have too much to handle. If you have a task that you find yourself thinking “this would be so much easier/faster if I had someone here” or “I don’t know if I can do this by myself” be sure to find a family member or close friends who will be glad to help you. It absolutely makes a difference.

Remember that not everything will be under your control. Whether it be a task you need to do, an appointment you have to meet or something else, you may not be able to get the outcome you want with everything you need done. Focus on what you can accomplish first and let the things that require input from others become secondary when you have to wait for that person or group. Followup as often as necessary, but let that ball be in their court. As a last resort if that person or group is unreliable, switch them out.

Allow yourself time to rest and relax. When life is overwhelming, the idea of taking a break can feel counterproductive and wrong. Remember though that if you don’t, you’ll just burn yourself out. Allow yourself time to go out, exercise, have fun and especially to rest. You’ll be more motivated to tackle things if you have a good work/life balance. Especially if you have a full time job on top of everything else.

That’s really all I can think of for now. I hope you find something here that’s helpful. If I think of anything else I’ll update my post. Good luck!

Not gonna lie, I almost thought this was either spam or a “wrong community” post. Would definitely not have thought this was something for the Dreamcast

You’re welcome!

Ah, so you’ve already played that one then? Hmm, the only other thing I could think of would be what one of the other comments said about turning off bonus stars and upping the difficulty for mini-games.

It could also be that you want to find a different type of party game like you mentioned. A few friends of mine have occasionally talked about a game called Donkapon Kingdom (think I spelled it right); I don’t know if that’s more luck or skill based though.

I haven’t really played other ones even though I lived through those prior generations.

I relate to this quite a bit. I dropped off Mario Party after the second game had come out because at the time, I’d had my fill of it. Didn’t play any of the GameCube games or MP3 until this past decade. I would recommend playing MP6 from the GC if you decide to try it. You can get trap based items to set on the board; some temporary, others permanent. Definitely becomes more strategic IMO. It’s why I like it so much honestly.

I forgot about the different pathways in that game. Now that I’m thinking about it, I remember enjoying that quite a bit! Couldn’t tell you what boards were there. I think one had a hotel if I remember correctly, but that’s all I recall.

Yeah, the switch versions are…interesting. Super Mario Party I felt catered too much to what I would refer to as a “casual” crowd. Which is basically the group that wouldn’t be playing games in the first place. Mini-games were decent. Boards were ok, but not very memorable; I’d label them as basic. Definitely not a bad game but pretty far down on my list of what I would play from the series.

Mario Party Superstars in comparison was “better” but while playing it just felt hollow to me. Seeing the classic boards reimagined was cool, but for the MP2 boards, it felt like some of their charm didn’t make it over. Still fun, don’t get me wrong, just feels like something is missing.

Haven’t played any version of Jamboree and probably won’t any time soon.

I completely forgot about these options, that’s a great point.

I have played it on original hardware. Thankfully the only time I did, the group voted against the mic lol. The fact that it had to use an entire memory card slot to function (while a cool use of tech) just never sat right with me.

That said, when it was on store shelves I saw it and just remember thinking “ugh, why?” Just not my cup of tea I guess.
