used a lot in metalworking and fab.

did a ton of yard-work today for a lady; planted three beds, filled 5 more, did some work on a chicken-coop and each one of those beds needed a good 50/50 mix so it was a removed turning them after weeding all of them.

made good cash, I'm happy about it.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but none of those were part of this article which was discussing solar inverters in large scale projects.

No, I was talking about protectionist policy in general, you are correct.

Routers could be related to the chip shortages with AI https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/foreign-made-wi-fi-routers-ban/

e-bike batteries would almost more seem like a supply and demand issue with their increased popularity these days.

I don't think the socialist global industrial powerhouse is having an issue with batteries.

scrolled down to read that you came up with it first, damnit.

When you accidentally walk into the ML Shriners' fundraiser.

Also I like how they're talking about actual political analysis while the anarchists are just sitting on the floor.

This policy wouldn’t impact you as an individual consumer

couple things I used to buy for hobby projects that are tougher to get now. Guns are a big thing, but that's more regulatory rather than protectionist.

Routers and e-bike batteries are big ones.

I really don't care about local bougies in America though, maybe it's different for some Europeans but protectionist policies just feel like a form of racket to stop me from buying superior and cheaper socialist goods because local porkies need their cut or else they gotta get a job.

Sink, swim, go down with the ship

But use your freedom of choice"

No offense taken or apology needed! I just like telling people that the job has a lot of work to it that has a certain danger to it.

I think considering the immiseration of people at the time and the utter lack of social mobility/class rigidity it would be a lot harder and far more difficult to convince people of "lumpen" character towards class consciousness even if they are educated. People made a significant living exploiting people especially in America if you take a look at the medicine industry at the time of Marx & Engel's writing. Engel describes the working class in England; putting myself in the shoes of a prole at that time, why would I not want to consider crime especially if it puts food on my table compared to a life of slaving away for pennies in a warehouse or mill somewhere where I'd be exposed to socialist thought? Further more, people had far different ideals on morality and criminal nature then. In general, the kind of life you lived and occupation you had very, very much so determined the circle around you. People weren't as alienated yet.

Things to think about in that regard, these are the first thoughts in my mind when I read the post.

I wouldn't even consider it simple-minded. There's a lot that goes into janitorial work and especially maintenance and there is a lot of ways to hurt yourself. Understanding your PPE, mainly. People really hurt themselves because they don't pay attention or in a lot of the cases, the job doesn't provide the proper PPE for the job. Working with asbestos, glass, fiberglass, lead...all things I have done and taken the extra steps to protect myself against them. Knowing how to use the tools you're using especially as well. Some dumb shit I have done when I was younger that "worked" that make me cringe thinking about it now.

Janitorial work is important in that regard too. You should always wear gloves, mask; check the chemicals you're working with and really try not to breath in power-cleaners when you're working in a row of 30 stalls. Sometimes there really are cases where all you can do is get the air moving; but that does LEAGUES more than just huffing straight chemicals in a porcelain and tile room.

when the same question gets asked "Who will scrub toilet under communism" I'm always there to pitch in and say that I would. I love maintenance and janitorial work, but they do not pay me enough to survive.

I'll admit, been losing grip of this in many ways

Find a way beyond the distance

Aiming for the day where every night, I'll fall asleep with you"

You got the key to open up my weary heart

You wanna have it all, please do

For our love is justified, I just want you by my side always

The world is reaching on existence, fading more each day...

If time will end, I wanna end with you

It's hard not to feel estranged

With distance in the way, tonight

I would walk it with you."

I'll see her soon.

"Their burning dogma

Introducing to our mind - lies

They plot for the total control of the morals

And what a tragedy are when the "god-heads" are removed

They crawl, they breed, they hide but we see

They burn I see the smoke of the funerals rising"

these days

"Searching for the break of day

Searching for something to say

Dancing lights against the sky

Giving up, I close my eyes

Sitting cross-legged on the floor

25 or six to four...

Staring blindly into space..."

"Puppet regime with you at the head

You've rid them of a communist threat

Your brand of "democracy" is now in control

And all of your people lie dead

Taken by force

Controlled by fear"

...

"Democracy" at any cost

The methods of freedom unclear"

A bit radlib but this band started me off on a journey at a young age.

"In the midst of all this wealth

The poor are left to help themselves

A capitalist's democracy

Why, no one said that freedom's free

Lady liberty rots away

No truth, no justice

The American Way"

Napalm Death is good too.

Where are some of the most detailed information I can find on N.A glacial movement/paths. I've been doing a bit of looking at fault-lines (tectonic movement) and outwash basins but I'm wondering if there is something more descriptive and shows which way the glaciers carved/moved through parts of North America, perhaps a good video or something. ARCgis tool?

Did some google searches and USGS is pretty good but I'm wondering if anyone who does geology has some good resources themselves that might not be as widely available. Thank you!

probably machine-gen slop, still made me giggle
