I don't think there is any shadow banning on here
Blahaj Lemmy Meta
Blåhaj Lemmy is a Lemmy instance attached to blahaj.zone. This is a group for questions or discussions relevant to either instance.
Shadowbanning is not a thing in threadverse.
I checked your profile and before this post your last posts seem to be from over a month ago and they all have a fair number of upvotes. If you have posted/commented after that, for some reason they have not federated to other instances (or to my instance at least).
Edit: Checking your profile via your instance shows newer posts and comments that I cannot see from my instance. Something odd is definitely going on with the federation.
Could it be that they were posting into a community that had been defederated? Or perhaps a community that they were blocked from posting into?
I've noticed that I can't see as many comments as I should be able to on posts for a long while now. There is definitely something funky going on with piefed blåhaj federation
I can see your recent posts and comments just fine, but not OPs. According to this thread, there has been some federation problems on piefed.blahaj.zone recently but not sure if that could be related.
Weird. Thanks for the response.
I see this post, but the next most-recent post/comments on your profile are 2mo+ old.
That's what I see when viewing their profile from lemmy.blahaj. There are plenty of extra comments when viewed from blahaj.piefed. Seems like many of their posts are not federating. I tried to track down one of their comments to lemmy.world and it didn't seem to be visible on the server.
That was a result of me going to bed, apologies. But there are more comments on my profile you're not seeing.
i dont think you can, because we can see you. i dont know if lemmy shadowbans people. we know reddit does it, and they have ramped it up this year.
shadowban means nobody can see your profile, or comments or posts at all.
As far as I'm aware there is no fediverse shadowbanning. But your comments are not federating. Though I can see this one, many of your comments seem to have not made it outside of your local instance.
It is happening, but its more likely a technical issue than anything else.
what even is shadowbanning, I'm not sure I understand the concept - your posts and comments are just not visible to anyone but yourself? What is the mechanism for that, is it only a Reddit thing?
Yes, that's how it works on Reddit. The idea is that the spammer won't realize they're banned and won't try to circumvent it by creating a new account.
