You can blame me. Just like washing a car, I just bought a B580.

[–] AmbiguousProps@lemmy.today 8 points 11 months ago

It definitely didn't help that I bought a Pro B50 which shipped yesterday. My bad, everyone.

And the mergers to monopoly continues.

Can't wait for my grandkids to be living in a fascist cyberpunk dystopia

And it will be allowed for sure because ya know ... Trump ...

Until the last few years of Intel falling on its face and Nvidia mopping up cash with crypto I would have never expected that Intel would turn into an underdog. This also sucks because now Intel won't be competing in the GPU space, bringing it back to just AMD and Nvidia.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 9 points 11 months ago

Intel management spent entire 2010s using R&D money to buy back shares while counsins at AMD and nvidia prepped to run a train on them.

these exec should be prosecuted for treason and given the rope. until these parasite are punished for their crimes, US big business will keep fucking up.

Good luck competing with AMD in this space. You can't just turn up the wattage in laptops

HOLD ON, MY DELL LATITUDE IS ABOUT TO HIT V~1~ ON ITS TAKEOFF ROLL, IT’S A BIT NOISY

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 months ago

As a dell latitude owner, I relate

[–] ms_lane@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Intel is already competing in that space.

Most of the time a machine is at idle, not at full load and Intel clocks AMD in idle power, which doesn't matter at all on Desktop but is a more important metric for mobile than loaded power consumption.

I remember when AMD bought out ATI

[–] ms_lane@lemmy.world 25 points 11 months ago

Guess we're back to AMD only for Linux then.

Fucking great. $800 Arc B580's with proprietary drivers that are shit for Linux.

IOMMU support: Broken

SR-IOV: Just gone.

Thanks nVidia.

When US treasury gives intel billions then takes an equity steak... the normie investor has a melt down...

When Mega corp bails them out to form a monopoly... that's proper 🤡

[–] NaibofTabr@infosec.pub 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Mmm, equity steak... I'll take mine medium rare.

¿en esta economía?

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

There goes any chance Intel had at competing in data-center AI processors.

[–] sanpo@sopuli.xyz 5 points 11 months ago

Well, fuck.

Is it for integrated graphics?
