In this short documentary, the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) shows how quickly mudflat hiking can become dangerous and how to hike safely through the fascinating habitat of the Wadden Sea.

Experienced mudflat guide Dark Blome recounts how he found himself in an emergency situation with a mudflat hiking group between Amrum and Föhr on Easter Monday 2025 and called the sea rescue service.
