Any tips for a new player? Less gameplay tips (I'll figure that out as I go), more like unwritten rules and etiquette?

Generally only take one resupply crate, if you want more just ask your fellow divers, also try to call down ammo when you are all bunched up together or just finished a objective, but dont be afraid to call it down just for yourself. Gentlemens rule: dont steal peoples stuff , thats pretty rude. If you are in a pinch or they call down a new set of equipment its fine to pick it up and use it, but in the former case dont forget to give their gear once you are done killing undemocratics with it. Oh and always check your reinforcements. Lastly never forget this golden rule: when in a firefight and all hope seems lost, CHARGE THE ENEMY AND CLOBBER ALL THOSE FREEDOMLESS BASTARDS INTO FERTILIZER WHILE YELLING SUPER EARTH PROPAGANDA!

have fun!

When doing SEAF artillery, gather the shells first so you know what you have and then turn on the console. Load them in the order you want them typically mini nuke > high ex > ex > napalm > static field > smoke.

When calling in supply, try to do so where it’s naturally where everyone is going to group up like on an objective or if you’re the first guy in line on the way to the next objective so people don’t have to run back.

If you’re split into two groups, try to ping the other teams guy to call in the reinforce before you call in someone away from their support weapons.

Sentries are better on high ground if available.

If shit is hitting the fan, anyone’s support weapons are up for grabs just give them back after.

Don’t feel pressured to use a mic, you can get through 90% of situations just with the in-game responses (yes, no, sorry, thank you, wait, follow me, I need supplies) by holding the ping button

Also don’t be afraid to use the matchmaking, the game is best in lobbies of four and I can think of only two or three negative experiences I’ve had with randoms in 300+ hours. Leave and find a new one if someone is being an asshole.

Unwritten rule: you will die in the game. Some players take great offense to this, and they are absolutely not fun to play with. They are a minority though, most people are pretty chill.
