Hi all! I can't decide if these screenshots are creepy or just silly. I mean, they are not very original or anything. I'd really appreciate some input. They are from a horror point-and-click/visual novel I'm working on. (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3085660/Side_Alley/)

I don't think it's silly, but I think I might be somewhere in between on it. I have played and watched a lot of horror and I think the best I can say is it doesn't look quite right. It needs a little something to make it unsettling. Unfortunately, I don't really know what that something is. I looked at the Steam page to try and get a little more insight. Some screenshots have a more realistic look while other things have the darker stylized look. Is that a gameplay thing? Like silent hill type of thing going between worlds or dimensions? I ask that because that can lend to being unsettling if it's implemented right.

Ah, I knew it. :) The way these "tableau" are created is just me experimenting and trying stuff. And as I'm not a visual artist, the result tend to be all over the place. Thanks a lot for the input.

You're welcome. I love Indy horror and smaller creators are what the game industry needs. I'll definitely keep an eye out for your stuff.
