That is me when I'm slightly warmer than normal. Right at the edge of sweating.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

About every post in this com describes perfectly normal human behavior.

Well you would! That's also autistic behavior!

Yes. Normal human behavior.

I think this applies heavily to socks. As cozy as they are, they can make you more hot/hot-headed and overwhelmed.

Lets the dogs breathe once in a while

I hate not wearing socks! A spectrum!

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

When you go to bed, do you not take off your socks, even then?

[–] Arcanepotato@crazypeople.online 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

No, because my husband would divorce me.

I wear slippers at home and my feet aren't sweaty, so they aren't tracking filth into bed or festering.

Edit: I do take my socks off in bed.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

😂 wat? So you do take your socks off before bed?

Isnt it lowkey kind of a freeing experience? Like some women use that example of letting the pups (boobs) free and bra off when they get home from work after a long day

[–] Arcanepotato@crazypeople.online 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yeah I fucked up communicating.

I do take my socks off because otherwise my husband would be extremely displeased with me. I don't understand why he wants them off because it's not like I'm tracking anything into bed.

I haven't worn a real bra in years but even the bra-like garments I wear now are less about freeing and more about stopping the rage lol. I think the issue is the band, just like a waist band. The socks I wear are not tight in a small section, they apply rather even pressure which I enjoy!

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Theres something unsettling about wearing them in bed, it almost feels like keeping on your shoes in the house in a way. Its too busy, take a load off And stay awhile

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I think wearing your socks would make it harder to fall and stay asleep tho. You want your bodys temperature to go down and cool down so to speak. I think taking off your socks is arguably one of The easiest and fastest ways to get immediate relief in that respect

Theres this weird thing where my feet are very sensitive to being too hot and they're so of a belweather for if i need to cool off and lose some layers like socks

[–] Arcanepotato@crazypeople.online 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh, I see. My extremities are always cold!

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

On my meds I find they are too but i also tend to overheat and need to switch back and forth like a maniac between heat and air cond lol

[–] Jojowski@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

I had a meltdown yesterday morning that drained all my energy and ruined the whole day. Too hot socks played a significant role. Another factor was that an outsider saw me in my home clothes.

They’re nice until they make the hair on my feet feel..maddening

Glasses, for me. I've worn glasses most of my childhood and early adulthood, until I gave contacts a try and realised how much better they work for me. I still don't like the idea of "stuff in my eye", but the comparison to wearing glasses, no matter how light or well-adjusted or whatever, makes them worth it.

On lazy mornings, when I don't feel like putting in contacts, I'll rather walk around shortsighted if I don't absolutely need to see things clearly or read things (like working or gaming) where the eye strain is worse than the sensation of something on my nose and ears.

I take off my glasses when I am done with the world lol. "Nah, I think I'd rather not be able to see thanks."

I am going to hate it when I start needing readers!

But food is too powerful (I'm fat 😭)

[–] strawberry_enjoyer42@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think skirts look good on everyone, you just gotta get the right fitting :3

The one time skirts or dresses are worth it to me are when I want to eat so much I know my pants will stop fitting during the course of wearing them.

I thought I could prevent people from suggesting skirts by mentioning my problem is with waistbands but instead I have gotten a reminder that desire is the cause of all suffering.

(please don't take this as angry or mean, I'm just being absurd)

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Today I got mad because I was wearing socks and could feel the seams on my toes :(

This is torture.

[–] Australis13@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

Ugh, seams in the wrong place are intolerable!

[–] RedWeasel@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I found out body hair does it this year. I am over 40.

Body hair and tight clothes = 🤮

[–] Jojowski@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I practically always wear tight leggins or shorts under trousers, it feels safer somehow. Only exception is when I'm at home, then I can't weat tight clothes. Autumn is especially difficult time as it's hard to estimate whether I should use shorts or long leggins or perhaps 3/4 length with knee socks underneath.

Team firm, even pressure under pants.

(Boyshorts and compression knee length socks for me)

[–] hamsamrich@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I only wear dance pants because I only dance when I wear my pants.

Those sound fun
