I don't think the main users of these services are Twitter users as you can't log in to Twitter using the alternative frontends, nor can you follow accounts to create a timeline afaik. They're just for viewing tweets eg if someone has sent you a Twitter link and you want to see what it is, or for conducting open-source research on what a person has said or put out historically. At least that's how I use them.
Governments and social services first.
Just some thoughts of both effects: First, I never saw the term Hydra effect before. Love it. In this case Hydra is more accurately describing the situation here, especially with Open Source. Because each time you kill a head, new one spawns as a fork. Streisand is not necessarily that, that is more about hiding information that results in more people looking at it and have an interest because you hide it. Hiding makes it interesting (why kids love doing stuff they are supposed not to). Off course both effects are appropriate here.
Does anyone know any other effect comparable to these?

I expect to see a hydra effect on the other end as well. Twitter's trying to shut down the proxies with legal threats. When that doesn't work, they will use technological measures like requiring you access it from an official mobile app with remote attestation. When (not if) all of the circumvention exploits are patched, there will be absolutely no means by which even the most well-meaning people (like archivists/preservationists and academics researching social media) can access Twitter in the way they need to to do their job.
Cut off one head, and two more will grow in its place.
At least these five seemed to work fine, and I ordered them in response time as pinged from Denmark, Europe. Some of the others required annoying "are you human tests":

As for redirecting, LibRedirect (use wget to download the crx file) still works on Chromium even though it's not manifest v3 yet, although they say they're working on it. Other redirecting services are available.
I've been using a vibe-coded userscript in the meantime, which is hacky and uses Tweet Grok's Twitter Viewer. I definitely prefer Nitter though.
I love the name chosen for nitter.xitter.cc - every part of the domain name contributes to the full description of its purpose.
I made my own at https://stopusingx.com/ but I am having rate limit issues with the amount of use it is getting lmao. I will add more xitter accounts I guess
