Sidebar Update

Our sidebar here at c/BestofInternetUpdates now includes links (they go to lemmy.world's search) to sort your posts. You can now sort by the location tags and the story tags. This isn't quite as well done as reddit, it's essentially going to the community typing the tag in the search bar and searching "title only." So you're able to do this yourself as well.

Post Sorting

We try to use tags because we're aware not everyone wants to see Reddit content. If you are one of those people, each post copied from Reddit will include a [Reddit] tag at the end. If you see these, you're welcome to keep scrolling.

Reddit is not the only place on the internet we allow sourcing from. Basically any type of story update made by a user is allowed here as long as that website allows reposting. Some websites like Ask a Manager and Captain Awesome, have some requirements for reposting (don't repost their responses, link back instead). So if you're posting from a site that has these requests, please follow their rules for reposting.

Posting Rules Update

We did some minor updates to our Posting Guidelines Please check them out before you decide to make a post. The comments on the post even includes a copy and paste template if you wish to contribute to the community. It makes it easier to just replace the titles, dates, and stories with your own and not have to worry about markdown formatting.
