Solar occultation. Iceland was plunged into darkness, where the Moon completely blocked the Sun for several seconds.

On August 12, 2026, a rare total solar eclipse occurred. The moon completely covered the solar disk, plunging the daytime sky into darkness for several minutes.
This astronomical phenomenon also affected Greenland and northern Spain. In Iceland's capital, Reykjavik, a total eclipse was observed for the first time in nearly 600 years.
During totality, stars became visible in the sky, temperatures dropped, and animals began to behave as if it were night.
