I mean obviously if we stop going outside, socializing will be harder. If we see too few face to face, we'll feel lonelier. But what I've noticed is that social media kinda creates artificial loneliness. I've mainly started using social media to find people and talk to random people about a year or 2 ago. Before that, I've never felt lonely even if I was home and not talking to anyone. After I started using it in a way to talk with random people, I just felt lonely constantly, as if I wasn't talking to people. I've realized this, and quit doing it to see if my theory was true, it was. I didn't feel lonely at all, even though I technically had less human interaction than before. Social media, if used this way really just creates an artificial loneliness feeling so you keep using it, as I think about it though, it was probably engineered to "trap" people to keep using the apps.
