Is my social battery meaningfully different from an introvert's, besides capacity? It just feels odd to specify that, like it implies introverts are experiencing something unique instead of a different range of the emotions and struggles we all feel. Cute comic!
Extroverts usually charge their batteries with social gatherings.
They get their energy from others.
Idk, social gatherings are both draining and rejuvenating for everyone in my opinion, it's two different spectrums. I don't think extroverts' increased ability to take joy from a party means they are immune from social exhaustion. I think we all have social batteries, all healthy people. I think drug addiction or other mental disorders might lead to distinctly different experiences of parties, but otherwise we're all kinda human about it in different ways.
Back when I was young, shy people were considered introvert.
Nowadays, it's highly social people that say "actually I'm an introvert" because they need some alone time to recover after socializing. Like extraversion is a chargeable battery.
I have friends that would never go to a party like this, I would call them introverts, I am as close to them as anyone. Nobody should have to enjoy parties to have a fulfilling life, I mean sometimes you are expected to gather to mark big life events, like weddings and funerals, maybe birthdays, and you should try to push thorough it, but in the general case, it's not necessary. Sorry, it's not related to the comic at all at this point, I'm just saying I agree. The definition is a bit stretched nowadays, and I think that leads to more social pressure on introverts to do things outside their comfort zone they don't have to, like thinking drinking with strangers in public is the only way to socialize.
