❗️Iran in talks with Oman over Hormuz, denies reports of negotiations with US

ExpandIran is actively engaged in discussions with Oman regarding a temporary safe transit corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced earlier today, explicitly denying that any negotiations are taking place with the United States.

Baghaei noted that ongoing diplomatic efforts over the past week have yielded some progress alongside parallel consultations with regional and international officials.

However, Tehran emphasized that reaching an agreement with Muscat alone will not suffice to fully reopen the vital waterway. According to Iranian officials, normal navigation will remain frozen as long as hostile actions and aggression by the US persist in the region.

From HB news mega (post body, "Trump Yet Again Pauses "Planned" Strikes On Iran / Ukraine Tries To Become Priority For US Again, Fails")

spoiler

Image is a map of Middle Eastern oil/gas production sites, which Iran has promised to strike in retaliation if their own energy infrastructure comes under attack.

My weekly preamble is in spoiler tags below.

spoiler preamble For the weekend of August 1-2, Trump had once again promised major strikes on Iran, which would have included crossing the critical red line of striking their energy infrastructure. In response, Iran once again essentially promised to end the possibility of modern civilization as we know it throughout much of the Gulf States and, to a certain extent, the Zionist entity, with the economic impacts radiating outwards around the world from there. The frustrating part about these threats from Trump is that while he's reneged on them before, the consequences of them actually occurring are so dire that it's difficult to ignore them; rolling a dice with even a 5% chance for complete catastrophe will always be nerve-wracking.

Anyway, as we all know, these strikes did not occur, with the excuse this time being much the same as the previous times: our regional allies begged us not to (potentially true) and Iran called us and said they were willing to negotiate/surrender (untrue). The point of these threat displays is at least twofold: first, to see if Iran is genuinely going to flinch, or, at least, if internal elements that may or may not exist will be spooked into action against the IRGC; and second, to manipulate oil prices downwards by creating constant cycles of "relief" out of an otherwise relatively constant downward trend as Hormuz stays closed and oil reserves continue to ebb. I do say "relatively", of course, given that Ansarallah now appears to be delivering a boot up the ass of Saudi Arabia by taking offline quite a lot of its refinery infrastructure.

It is into this situation that Ukraine seems to want in. For those out of the loop, the situation over in Ukraine has largely the same overall attritional dynamics as previous years, but with a few added wrinkles. Ukraine started striking Russian infrastructure a while ago, and while their effectiveness is hotly debated and I don't want to dismiss them as totally ineffectual, it's clear that the psychological effects - such as they are - are greater than the material effects. Russia's retaliation strikes have been considerably more impactful, including strikes on Ukrainian Black Sea ports and vessels, and a campaign explicitly against gas stations across Ukraine, as well as some rather impressive and disruptive explosions at Ukrainian military fairs and production sites. Zelensky has admitted publicly that they are now basically out of Patriot missiles and that Russian missiles are now landing entirely unopposed (beforehand, they were just landing largely unopposed, given the lackluster performance of Western air defences in general). He seems to have considered a possible way out: linking together the Ukraine and Iran Wars to a united front against Russia and Iran, which would then grant Ukraine more munitions to keep fighting on.

Now, for all the fear I've seen of this occurring (and, don't get me wrong, the US and Russia being in non-proxy, direct conflict is a genuinely frightening prospect for continued life on Earth) how linking together two wars which the West is quite decisively losing into a single war would help at all is beyond me. At this moment, at least, US military planners appear to agree with me. Ukraine hit a Caspian Sea vessel going to Iran a while ago, but then seems to have quickly apologised after being given a stern talking to by the US. This shows just how willing the US is to grant Ukraine more aid, as their own interceptor stockpile is running very low due to Iranian strikes. One would almost feel sympathy for Zelensky if is wasn't for... well, everything that's happened. The path of Ngô Đình Diệm is a tough one to walk. ::: :::

🇮🇷| Iran’s Assembly of Experts issued a statement on the occasion of Arbaeen and following reports of negotiations

The Board reaffirmed its full support for the Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, and called upon all officials to demonstrate practical adherence to his guidance.

The statement:

“The wise, insightful, hopeful and dignified messages of the Leader of the Revolution provide direction and guidance for the honourable people of Iran and the Islamic nation, and must remain at the forefront of the country’s officials’ considerations.”

Referring to repeated violations of the MoU by the US:

“Trusting this arrogant government is nothing more than a mirage. Placing hope in reaching an understanding or agreement with this bullying regime will lead nowhere. Any action aimed at securing the nation’s rights must be carried out within the framework of the Leader’s views, guidance and strategic decisions.”

The Assembly of Experts also referred to calls for surrender by alarmists and conspirators made under the guise of defending peace. It described such as an unforgivable betrayal and stressed that legally confronting such actions is an unquestionable duty of the responsible authorities.

OPINION OF ONE OF THE SIMURG ADMINS

Opinion

The statement by the Presidium of the Assembly of Experts in Iran is both timely and interesting.

It basically tells everyone to fall in line or else.

It means that the establishment has put behind the chaos of the likes of Ghalibaf and Pezeshkian doing whatever that they wanted on Zarif's advice and claiming force majeure -including twice accepting ceasefires without consultation with the Leader Imam Mojtaba Khamenei.

The political establishment of the Islamic Republic received a major wake-up call when more than 43 million people attended the martyred Leader Seyed Ali Hossieni Khamenei's funeral procession.

It was reminded that the Revolution is and remains of the people and without their support, they would be history.

Just as the late Leader predicted before his martrydom, the fitna (conspiracy) of certain authorities is being unravelled by the populace.

All signs are pointing at a consolidation of powers by the Jurisprudence under the leadership of Imam Mojtaba Khamenei, to once again lead the nation and reinvigorate the forces of the Resistance.

The Ghalibaf slander needs to stop. He is not a reformer or an appeaser. The project to build multiple underground "Missile Cities" was pushed for and overseen by Ghalibaf when he was Aerospace commander of the IRGC. He is a major part of why Iran is doing so well.

He has said negotiations are a tool that is used to solidify the gains made on the battle field and that both war and words need to be used to secure peace and each needs to be used at the right time. This is just realism. Every war ends with negotiations.

Some quotes: "Our experience of negotiations with the Americans has always been met with failure and breach of promise". "Based on our experiences from the past two conflicts, we have no trust in the opposing side" "If you do not have the will or the ability to fulfill your commitments, then there is no point in talking about continuing down this path" "only those who are prepared for war can engage in negotiation with Washington"

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 weeks ago

It seems to me that words can't change anything. They merely reflect reality, they do not create it.

It's war, and other material realities, that determine the words.

❗️Jenin’s eastern bypass shops evacuated under Israeli demolition threat to sever West Bank villages

According to local residents, nearly 40 commercial shops along the eastern bypass road in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, have begun evacuating their contents following Israeli demolition notices.

Locals report that the move is part of a broader plan to isolate the eastern villages from the city of Jenin.

Residents emphasize that these measures go beyond the destruction of property, directly cutting off the livelihoods of dozens of families and forcibly displacing Palestinians from their land.

❗️Residents of south Lebanon's Zawtar al-Gharbiya prevented from returning home despite government assurances

ExpandAccording to The Cradle's media correspondent Roqayah Chamseddine, citing local residents, forcibly displaced residents from the southern Lebanese village of Zawtar al-Gharbiya have faced continuous obstacles in returning to their homes, exposing a major gap between official government PR and realities on the ground.

Chamseddine reports that the situation in Zawtar differs sharply with high-profile government optics when Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam visited the village to personally plant the national flag in the town square, heralding the deployment of the military as a triumphant step toward restoring state sovereignty and welcoming citizens back.

Despite assurances that forcibly displaced citizens would be allowed to return under the state's trilateral framework agreement with the US and Israel, Chamseddine reports that the Lebanese Army initially imposed strict curfews and security protocols, and has since moved to deny residents the ability to return to the area at all.

🇮🇱❌🇵🇸 — A court in Israel has prohibited National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to use crocodiles to secure terrorists in prisons, The Jerusalem Post reported.

According to the newspaper, the Jerusalem District Court issued this ruling based on a motion from the animal rights organization Let the Animals Live.

Meanwhile, Ben-Gvir accused the judged of siding with terrorists.

"Once again, in a time of war, the legal system sides with the terrorists, thwarting important steps for Israeli deterrence," he was quoted as sahying. "We know that the terrorists are worried about the arrival of the crocodiles, but today the court came to their aid."

❗️Lebanon's President Aoun accused of covering up violations by Beirut Airport Security chief

ExpandAccording to a report by Al-Mahatta, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received Brigadier General Fadi Kfoury, head of Beirut Airport Security, at the Presidential Palace. The meeting has raised serious concerns regarding the "state of law" that President Aoun repeatedly claims to build, given the extensive allegations surrounding the military official.

Al-Mahatta highlighted a series of active files and suspicions involving Brig. Gen. Kfoury which include British investigative documents linking him to weapons smuggling suspicions, administrative violations at Beirut International Airport, alleged sectarian discrimination using his official position, and the illegal appointment of his wife as a notary public.

Despite the gravity of these claims, no official investigations or legal prosecutions have been initiated against Kfoury in Lebanon.

The report emphasizes that receiving him at the Presidential Palace provides visual political cover from the highest office in the state, directly contradicting President Aoun's oath of office regarding judicial independence, accountability, and the rule of law.

❗️Gaza death toll since so-called 'ceasefire' reaches 1,250 as health ministry warns of critical medical collapse

Expand▪️The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said 19 Palestinians were killed by Israel and 35 injured over the past 24 hours, including 18 newly killed and one person who later died of their wounds. The ministry added that victims remain trapped beneath the rubble and in the streets, where ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them. Since the October 11 ceasefire, 1,250 Palestinians have been killed, 4,110 wounded, and 804 bodies recovered.

▪️In a separate statement, the ministry warned that the deliberate deprivation of medicines is driving a "silent genocide" against patients. It said 61% of cancer and blood disease medications are unavailable, while overall shortages have reached 47% of essential medicines, 58% of medical supplies, and 85% of laboratory testing materials, threatening the near-total collapse of vital diagnostic and treatment services.

▪️The ministry also reported shortages of 56% of maternal and child health medicines, 55% of primary healthcare medicines, 46% of kidney and dialysis drugs, 35% of psychiatric and neurological medicines, 33% of emergency and intensive care medications, 39% of surgical supplies, and 47% of orthopedic supplies. It renewed its appeal to international, UN, and humanitarian organizations to urgently facilitate the entry of medicines, medical consumables, and laboratory supplies to prevent a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.

❗️Rome talks reportedly face major test as Lebanon pushes for Israeli withdrawal from occupied border towns

Expand▪️According to Al Liwaa newspaper, negotiations set to begin in Rome are expected to be highly contentious, with Lebanon entering the talks demanding that Israel first withdraw from occupied areas in southern Lebanon before discussing other issues. The Lebanese delegation is expected to propose withdrawal from key occupied towns, including Bint Jbeil, Khiam, and parts of the Nabatieh region, while Israel is reportedly insisting that the Lebanese Army eliminate any remaining Hezbollah presence near the border or face Israeli military action.

▪️The report says the framework agreement is increasingly at risk of collapse as Israeli military operations continue across southern Lebanon. It notes that Israeli occupation forces have maintained daily strikes, demolitions, incursions, and artillery attacks while expanding operations around Ali al-Taher Hill, Shaqif (Beaufort Castle), and surrounding villages. Recent attacks included large explosions in Kounine, Taybeh, and Haddatha, drone strikes in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, shelling between Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Rumman, incursions into Wadi al-Hujair, and attacks on Ali al-Taher and Al-Mansouri, alongside reports of homes being burned in the Al-Mashaa area between Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun.

▪️Al Liwaa adds that Washington continues to publicly back the Lebanese Army despite Israeli criticism of its role. The coming Rome negotiations will likely determine whether the framework agreement can still be preserved or whether it is on the verge of complete collapse.

▪️The widely praised 'progress' on the ground following the Lebanon-Israel framework agreement is entirely hollow, given that several designated pilot zones, including Froun, were never even occupied to begin with, and displaced residents are still being strictly barred from returning to villages like Zawtar al-Gharbiya.

https://t.me/thecradlemedia/65488

I wish there were a faction in Lebanon that could have warned against these talks... If only there was a force that could provide a real leverage to the Lebanese governments negotiating power.

❗️China and European factories stumble under weight of US-Israeli war on Iran

ExpandManufacturing activity across China and major global economies slowed down in July as the prolonged war on Iran delivered weaker demand and elevated costs to industrial powerhouses, according to business surveys reviewed by The Straits Times today.

The US-Israeli war on Iran has severely disrupted shipping through the crucial Strait of Hormuz, sending energy prices soaring and creating a widespread manufacturing squeeze.

While regional output experienced a brief lift in parts of Europe, that growth was largely driven by firms clearing order backlogs rather than genuine new demand, according to the S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) surveys.

The headline Eurozone Manufacturing PMI index rose to 51.9, though analysts remain cautious about the economic trajectory. "It's a mixed bag, but with the main conclusion the euro zone economy is more resilient than feared ... but we're clearly heading into at least a low growth environment," Carsten Brzeski at ING noted in the survey findings.

❗️'Board of Peace' urges de-escalation as Israel rejects Gaza roadmap

Expand▪️Board of Peace Gaza envoy Nickolay Mladenov condemned the latest Israeli strikes in Gaza, saying they had "killed civilians and destroyed medical supplies that people depend on," despite intensive mediation efforts by Egypt, Turkiye, Qatar, and the US that resulted in Palestinian factions agreeing to a roadmap implementing President Trump's plan, including the handover of civilian governance and the alleged phased decommissioning of weapons.

▪️Mladenov said in a post on X that his team is working "around the clock" to de-escalate and create conditions for implementing the agreement, while the Board acknowledged that Israel's continued strikes have placed the process under severe strain.

▪️The agreement would see Hamas gradually hand over its weapons to a new Palestinian administration while Israel begins withdrawing from Gaza before full disarmament is completed.

▪️ However, Israeli officials have rejected the framework, insisting occupation forces will not withdraw until Hamas is fully disarmed and its weapons removed from Gaza.

▪️ The Times of Israel reported that the Board of Peace, US officials, and mediators have grown increasingly frustrated with Israel's stance, with one Board official describing the situation as "a tense moment" and saying that ending Israeli attacks remains essential for implementing the roadmap, while Channel 12 cited an unnamed US official expressing supposed frustration over Israel's actions.

A senior Hamas source told Al Jazeera that the movement has asked mediators to take a clear position on Israel's latest escalation in Gaza and to intervene directly to compel a complete ceasefire. ❗️US reportedly begins withdrawal from Iraq's Kurdistan Region, leaving it exposed to Iranian attacks

Expand▪️According to Asharq al-Awsat, US forces have begun a pre-planned withdrawal from Iraq's Kurdistan Region, including the gradual removal of troops, heavy military equipment, and Patriot air defense systems from Harir Air Base near Erbil.

▪️Kifah Mahmoud, media adviser to the president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, claimed reports of a complete US withdrawal reflected a "misunderstanding," explaining that the drawdown had been planned for months under an agreement between Baghdad and Washington ahead of the coalition's scheduled departure by the end of September.

▪️Mahmoud said not all US air defenses had been removed, with sufficient systems remaining to protect US interests in the region. He added that US personnel previously redeployed from Ain al-Asad Air Base to Harir are now preparing to relocate to bases in other countries, while stressing that the US presence in Kurdistan primarily consists of advisers and trainers supporting the Iraqi military and the Peshmerga.

▪️The report notes that Harir Air Base and other locations across the Kurdistan Region have repeatedly come under missile and drone attacks by Iran and allied Iraqi factions. Citing Rudaw, it said the Kurdistan Region experienced 88 missile and drone attacks in July, killing 10 people and injuring 15. Kurdish sources expect attacks to continue even after the US withdrawal, while noting that the Peshmerga may have recently acquired counter-drone systems that successfully intercepted several drones over Erbil.

▪️Meanwhile, Amberin Zaman of Al-Monitor said that the US is nearing a full withdrawal from Iraq's Kurdistan Region, with the bulk of US troops and heavy equipment already removed from Harir Air Base and all Patriot air defense batteries reportedly redeployed to an undisclosed location. The Al-Monitor report said the drawdown could leave the region more vulnerable to operations by Iran and Iraqi resistance factions, which have launched nearly 1,000 missiles and drones at the Kurdistan Region since February.

❗️US-Israeli war on Iran leading to sharp rise in fuel theft across Britain

ExpandSoaring energy prices triggered by US-Israeli military aggression against Iran have led to a sharp rise in fuel theft across Britain.

Data released by Sky News Arabia reveals that nearly $269,000 worth of gasoline and diesel is being stolen daily from UK petrol stations.

Driven by escalating supply disruptions, the value of daily stolen fuel has jumped by 48 percent to an average of $261,000.

Fuel prices in England have climbed to their highest levels in three years. A liter of gasoline now costs around $2.15, representing a $0.36 increase since the outbreak of US-Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, diesel prices have surged by $0.50 to reach approximately $2.41 per liter.

Ben Lawrence, a manager at the Lawrence Group of petrol stations, observed that while fuel theft was once largely confined to organized criminal outfits, everyday citizens are increasingly resorting to drive-offs to cope with the economic squeeze.

In an effort to curb the wave of thefts, station operators are turning to heightened surveillance technology. Tech firm Forecourt AI has rolled out a new system integrating facial recognition software, allowing station owners to track, record, and report shoplifting and fuel theft in real time.

❗️Saudi oil tankers cross Bab al-Mandab amid Ansarallah blockade

Shipping data released today showed that two tankers carrying Saudi oil crossed the Bab al-Mandab Strait over the weekend. This movement came as maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed following recent vessel attacks.

According to figures from analytics firm Kpler, the number of cargo vessels passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait dropped to 18 on Sunday, down from 27 on Saturday and 28 on Friday.

The slowdown follows a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia declared by Yemen's Ansarallah on 20 July, which extended the scope of targeting oil tankers and regional shipping lanes beyond Persian Gulf waters.

🇸🇾👧 — A girl from the village of al-Huweiz, near Jableh, nammed Natalie Muhammad al-Dakhil disappeared. Residents demanded a swift answer from the Security forces and they went on a strike in the street of the village to protest the horrific kidnapping. The villagers were accusing the local Bedouin community for being behind the accident.

Thanks to the Lord, the girl was finally founded and brought back to her family after hours of being missing. For now, no official statement was made about the reasons behind the incident. However in a heartbreaking video, we can hear the girl telling her story and how her kidnappers beat her with sticks.

شكرا يا ربي... 🙏

Video and image: The Levantine Revolutionary Party

Accompanied post by admin of The Levantine Revolutionary Party Telegram

— I usually do not post about kidnapping stories on the Syrian coast but this one really show the situation that the Alawite community is living over there. It is not the first time, it occurs too often and it will not be the last time. How are we going to live in a country where a minority cannot even let their children free of their movements in their own villages ? The insecurity in Syria seems to be what these Islamists wish. They want to show how strong they are against weak people but I do not see them flying to Moscow and take Bashar al-Assad. Do not mistaken me for an Assadist, I am quiet the opposite but seeing those horrific kidnappings cannot continue.

The civil war is over, all the Syrian population has suffered from it, especially the poor. Now we need to work toward unity and social cohesion. Nonetheless, playing with this thin line of insecurity in the coast will trigger something that no one wants. These extremists ruin the country as much as the Assad regime did, they break the will of the people to live together, they establish fear and threaten their lives. If you want to act as separatists, go and fight for your cause elsewhere.

The civilians on the Syrian coast have nothing to do with the former regime, all the famous Alawite elites that the current regime (and probably all Syrians) hate are well and safe in the UAE, Russia and elsewhere. Instead, you chose to aggress the innocent Alawite, who seeks to rebuild his life as the Sunni, the Christian, the Druze, the Kurd etc... after fourteen years of war.

To be honest, it just shows the pathetic way of thinking of a certain group of people in this country and it disgusts me. You are a grown ass man kidnapping and beating a literal child, may you find hell on your path for you do not deserve any mercy from us.

Yet Another Syria Rant

I think the people that I have the least respect for are these kinds of two-faced hypocrites. I do not believe these crocodile tears for an instant, and even if they are real, this absolute bufoon deserves no level of respect.

Afraid to be called an Assadist, really? We told you this would happen. We Shi'ites and Alawites and Christians SAID THIS WOULD HAPPEN FOR 10 YEARS. And yet these complete ignoramuses are too afraid to say the quiet part out loud. That we were right about the charecter of the "Syrian Revolution" and who funded it.

Assad was not supported on the basis of him being exceptional, it was based on the knowledge that if he were replaced, it was always going to be by Wahabbi extremists.

Yet now you complain about Islamists?! Who do you think was going to come to power at the end of this war, if not the most well funded, armed, and rhetorically supported in Arabic Media?! Claims of Sunni Genocide were being made by the same outlets who gave interviews to Al-Queada, and who said publicly that they were on a holy war against Shi'ites!

How do you have the gall to bring up Assad as a boogeyman while you cheerleaded these rapists barbarians as the lesser evil! The answer is simple, and it has not changed, you believe that the abuse of this Alawite girl is worth the price of Assad being gone.

It's just a mind boggling level of ineptitude!

"Assad must go!" You shouted loudly over anyone who asked the question "Who is most likely to replace him?"

Well now you got what you wanted. You've successfully ripped the country apart by turning a blind eye to the Wahabbi pillager rapists until it was too late to stop them.

I curse these hypocrites.

I curse all who chose to close their ears to what the minorities of Syria had been saying for ten years.

That the greatest monsters were always on their side.

This is what my compatriots fail to understand. They curse their own for not voting Democrat because "Trump is worse" (debatable, he's mask off, though), while screaming for regime change in

I just wanted to say, thank you for posting about (and ranting about) these updates from the situation within Syria, as an English speaking Pakistani it's quite hard to get a sense for what exactly is going on and this helps paint a picture.

I also really empathise with your pain and frustration. The situation in Syria is worse than in Pakistan, but the sense of frustration at watching the state of the country continuously decline, going from one negative development to the next, while common people suffer, well I can certainly relate to it given how its been growing up in this country.

I've long held the view that the revolution was hijacked by the west (including 'Israel') in order to depose Assad and while as you say I'm not a huge fan of him, replacing him with these west aligned wahabbists is a definite loss. It is good to hear from others who share this perspective. I hope that a path to a better, sovereign, Syria that works for all of its people can emerge, it's been painful watching the suffering of the country for all these years even from the outside.

Thank you comrade, it's very nice to know that I'm not crazy and that others can empathize with this experience. Inshahallah, after the decolonizing of West Asia, more sovereign national projects can emerge across the entire continent. I can imagine that the situation in Pakistan is also quite harrowing considering what I've been informed about from my family's Pakistani friends. I hope things can begin looking up for you as well some time relatively soon.

~Via The Hormuz Letter on X:

A source close to Iranian officials says Tehran has documented a pattern of oil market manipulation tied to Axios reporting and Trump administration insiders, including evidence of a $9 billion insider trading operation linked to Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.

The documented timeline of the $9 billion insider profit:

Between April and May 2026, a series of highly suspiciously timed trades in oil futures markets preceded major Iran war and deal announcements, each tied to reporting by Axios.

On March 23, approximately $500–580 million in shorts were placed 15 minutes before Trump announced he was postponing strikes on Iran, oil dropped.

On April 7, roughly $950–960 million in shorts were placed hours before Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, oil fell 15 percent.

On April 17, approximately $760 million in shorts were placed 20 minutes before Iran's foreign minister announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, oil dropped.

On April 21, around $430 million in shorts were placed 15 minutes before Trump extended the ceasefire, oil dropped again.

On May 6, nearly $920 million to $1.7 billion in crude oil shorts were placed approximately 70 minutes before an Axios scoop claimed the U.S. and Iran were near a "14-point agreement." Oil dropped 12 percent. Traders made an estimated $125 million in profit, while Iran called the May 6 Axios report "the Americans' wish list," and completely false.

A senior Iranian official previously told Drop Site News that Iran privately warned VP JD Vance during Switzerland talks that Kushner and Witkoff were "abusing" negotiations, being "more interested in exploiting insider knowledge to profit in financial markets than reaching a deal.

🇺🇸🇬🇧🇫🇷🇩🇪🇮🇶🇸🇾In a coordinated and unprecedented move, military forces from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany have withdrawn hundreds of troops and key air defense systems from Erbil International Airport over a 72-hour period. The withdrawal, carried out using heavy transport aircraft such as the C-17 Globemaster and A400M Atlas, has left the Kurdistan Region feeling vulnerable.

Local Kurdish officials in the region were not only unaware of the large-scale withdrawal but also believed the exact opposite: that shipments were coming in of interceptor missiles and new equipment to reinforce their bases. In less than three days, the United States transferred all its remaining Patriot missile systems to Jordan. Britain moved its Rapid Sentry system to Cyprus. Permanent surveillance balloons were removed from the skies over Erbil, and British forces completely left the region, while the United States, France, and Germany retain only a token number of troops there.

Perhaps Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s trip to Damascus and meeting with ISIS/Al Qaeda head chopper aka Mohammed Jolani aka Ahmed al Shara'a aka President of Syria, is an attempt to prevent either Iran or the Al Zaidi administration in Iraq from moving to fill the power vacuum left behind.

Kurds continue to have the rug pulled from under them. If you ever feel bad for the length of time it took you to understand the nature of imperialism, take solace in the fact that you're probably ahead of the Kurdish Israel project.

— 🇺🇸/🇮🇷/🇴🇲 NEW: Under the current deal being discussed between Iran and Oman, Iran would control all inbound traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, using a corridor within Iranian waters, while charging for maritime service fees

Outbound traffic would use a route close to Oman, but Iran would still supervise the passage of vessels and retain the right to intervene if necessary. – New York Times

— 🇺🇸/🇮🇷/🇴🇲 NEW: According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran has made a few additional demands for opening the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian management in partnership with Oman

– An immediate end to the U.S. naval blockade.

– The lifting of U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil, petrochemical products, and gas.

– An explicit acknowledgement of Iran’s right to collect maritime fees.

Besides all this, Iran will have full control over inbound traffic into the Strait of Hormuz, and supervision over outbound traffic through Omani waters.

Personally, I take this with a grain of salt due to not trusting western sources. It seems about accurate to what Iran has been demanding the whole time but western media is known to spin everything they touch.

❗️CENTCOM calls on troops to offer 'creative' ways to 'punish' Iran

ExpandAccording to an exclusive CNN report, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has launched an internal brainstorming blitz last week, instructing military analysts to pitch untraditional tactics to intensify pressure on Iran.

"We are looking for new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran," an officer in the intelligence branch of CENTCOM wrote in an email sent Wednesday to a broad group of military analysts, according to a source familiar with the message.

The broad digital appeal highlights mounting anxiety within Pentagon ranks as planners struggle to break a strategic stalemate under the weight of narrowing options. The initiative underscores the friction facing Washington as conventional military measures fail to force Tehran into submission.

"At the end of the day, POTUS will want a deal, so he’ll continually look for ways to get tough and get out of this,” one of CNN's sources said.

"You need creative minds at times — especially if you’re running out of conventional options."

Sounds to me like asking for suggestions on how to sell the defeat of the US, but idk.
