Latvia is investigating two drones which entered its airspace from Russian territory overnight and crashed in eastern part of the country near an empty oil storage facility.

Four empty oil tanks were reported damaged, with minor smouldering reported in one of the tanks. The local public broadcaster captured a drone flying in the area on their camera.

Latvian prime minister Evika Siliņa convened a crisis management meeting for 10am local time. She earlier said she was “in constant communication” with relevant ministers and state institutions.

“After the incident concludes, I expect reports from the responsible ministers on what happened,” she said.

Most likely these are Ukrainian drones that went off course due to Russian jamming. The same thing happened in March. Ukraine has been launching long range strikes against Russian infrastructure up in the regions around St Petersburg and that naturally tends to put you near the Baltics.

I think the same.

A bit north, in Estonia, about a month ago, one Ukrainian decoy with a small explosive charge hit a concrete smoke stack of a power station.

I think Russia messes with their satnav and machine vision sometimes fails.

Your supposition is entirely correct. Russia engages in extensive jamming in that region, and not just because of Ukrainian drones. There are days on end when you basically lose cell service because of how bad the Russian electronic warfare is.
