Without reading the post, I’s guess because of all the vibe coding. I recently ran into a fucking vibecoded Bloomberg terminal TUI. A Bloomberg terminal ffs!

The relevant subs on reddit (e.g. /r/CLI) are so full of vibecoded slop you'll be hard pressed to find a real project there.

And yes I do mean slop. Projects the author spends two afternoon on, posts on Reddit, basks in the upvotes and moves on to their next slop project. I'm sure there are good vibecoded apps but this ain't it.

I read the article and I dont think it was worth the read. Your comment summarizes everything it wants to say but doesnt state explicitly.

Humorously, I’m vibe coding a tui. It’s fun stuff.

But only realease it to the public if you've cleaned it up, please.
Early release is fine for learning, but with slop, there's not much to learn and makes for a bad user experience.

Whats a good one for lemmy or piefed?

I started sketching one for PieFed a couple of weeks ago, intending to use it to dogfood api improvements. No progress beyond paper, yet.

There are a couple of abandoned rust Lemmy clients, one called lemmy-terminal-viewer and another lemoa (gtk). They probably wouldn't need much kicking into shape.

Also, impala (iwd) and bluetui have replaced bloated NetworkManager and crashy blueman for me.
