When I was a kid, the LA skiline was invisible. Hidden under a thick layer of smog. You love to see it...literally.

Yeah it's crazy you can even see the skyline

Here ya go, this is the view we had of Down Town L.A. from my house in the 1980s! Plenty of smog for you!

I heard stories of that... Interesting to see it. The one time I was in Beijing wasn't too different, orange sky and all. Goes to show you environmental actions to make a difference, from smog tests to gas taxes and everything in-between.

Don't worry, considering how they gutted the EPA you're gonna go back to the 80s pretty fast. And it won't even have the fun parts like funky music, disposable income and drugs.

It might have just rained. You can still see the smog layer in this picture along the horizon.

LA isn't quite as smoggy as people think, but we did get a light sprinkle the other day so maybe. It really wasn't much, though. There's always a little layer of smog, but the parts that people think about are more in the valley where it gets trapped; I don't think people are supposed to live there.

I've lived in the beach cities. I've seen the yellow skies.

I've lived here like, three decades. It's only been yellow or orange during wild fires.

Just look at the posted picture. Horizons don't look like that without smog.

Is this from a disposable camera from 2003?

That's the look I was going for! But no, it was taken on an iphone.

The date stamp reminds me of early digital cameras.
