The last of Uganda’s wild rhinos was killed in the early 1980s; the translocated animals come from a breeding program set up at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in 2005.
They were "extinct" in Uganda, not everywhere.
It's mildly annoying that the media doesn't seem to know the word "extirpated."

I feel the same way about words like leucocholy, but I'm forplaint with the ugsome trend of rising of anti-intellectualism in our world today and no longer see the appeal of logomachies.
