Unfortunately, "kick the ladder behind you" is a time-honored Republican tradition. Clarence Thomas has made a career of it. Hypocrisy only exists in opponents.

The article linked has nothing to do with the screenshot.

Also the claim is false according to snopes.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/marco-rubio-birthright-citizenship-quote/

This is unfortunately how false information spreads. No one does any fact checking and takes a random screenshot as fact.

I always appreciate fact checking. Just want to add some context in case people don't read the article. Marco Rubio did not say that quote. However, he would be impacted by revoking birthright citizenship, which is what MAGA is pushing for.

According to immigration documents Politico reported, Rubio's parents came to the U.S. on immigrant visas in 1956 and became citizens in 1975. Rubio was born in 1971 to parents who, at that point, had legal status but not citizenship in the U.S., according to Politico's report.

So I view this more as a leopards ate my face situation. While he didn't say what the meme quoted him as saying, he is a part of this administration which is pushing to revoke the citizenship of millions of people. He's likely hoping that they don't succeed or if they do, they'll see him as "one of the good ones".

parentS, plural?

that means all the Trump kids have to rescind their citizenship.

Imagine being so obtuse you can't see that deporting a third of your county would end the nation - if it were even possible to do, which of course it's not.

Ref the title, Rafael Cruz was born in Canada. At least one of his parents were citizens, so he's a different flavor of birthright citizen.

Don't abort that baby or you get the death penalty but also when you have the baby, it will be a stateless person with no rights that shouldn't be technically possible based upon any kind of historical precedent really in any country. Abort and deport.
