Yes I consistently Pick off the largest leaves. Probably my favorite tasting plant, and extremely strong grower so I never feel like I'm harming it.

Great question, thank you. Yes. I am experimenting with side lighting, as in the image the plant is raised up on a shelf, such that it can fall to the side, thus giving it more surface area to be exposed to the light rather than just directly above.
