Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Yes, that is that cat's real name in his native language. His human "room mate" doesnt force him to use a silly slave name like mittens or whiskers.

Our neighbor's cat visited us a lot and then decided she lived with us instead. We called her Meows since we didn't know her name. Eventually talked to the neighbors and learned they named her Zoe. We didn't like that name for her so call her Meows.

Reminds me of my uncle's cat who he named "guero" (affectionate name for blonde in Spanish, cause he is a lil light orange boy), but then they found out his name was Barry, and seriously who names their cat Barry? The same neighbours that abandoned him, likely.

I named a cat "Meower" when I was 6.

A Cantonese-speaking friend told me that this is the legit translation for cat.

I remember reading that some variant of "mao" is indeed the Chinese word for "cat", but that this is a different word from the surname of the first leader of the PRC (spelled with a different character and probably pronounced with different tones), so that guy wasn't actually named "Cat" (that wouldn't be inherently weird, plenty of German speakers have the surname "Katz" after all).

I have actually known a number cats named Meow Meow. I always found that kind of stupid, but hey it isnt my pet.
