IIRC, in Helldivers 1 Earth would fall, and that would kinda serve as a galactic reset of the war fronts. I don't think such a reset has occurred in Helldivers 2 yet, maybe it could happen?
My buddy has a theory that this whole time we were meant to retake super earth and prepare as the next major story arc. My theory is maybe we’ll get some new bots (iron legion maybe) or bugs and make some new tech like stratagems and a DSS 2.0
Man I havent played since the 3rd faction got released. Super Earth is getting invaded? Wild. I want to help but have too much going on and I'm stuck on Marvel Rivals.

There's a lot of fun stuff released since then. Most of it is in warbonds though, so I recommend playing with someone who can call them in for you
Did they ever get rid of the PSN requirement? I haven't logged in since the big shitshow, but could be persuaded to give it another go as long as I don't have to give Sony any of my data.
There is a prompt for logging in with PSN but you can just press skip and be done with it
Stick with your values. Playing the game gives Sony data. I'm not sure what data but it's still data. Avoid games that you feel uneasy about.
